Biografie
Hailing from the heartland of Arizona, American born DJ Phoenix came to Sydney Australia at a young age in 2001 before moving to the nations capital where he has since resided.
With a youthful musical focus on the sounds of metal, punk and grunge, it was artists like Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and the Sex Pistols that shaped Daniel's taste and personality towards the harder and faster sounds of a not so mainstream audio!
Cue 2005 and a sound with a similar vibe in the techno world of hardcore stole centre stage, when a friend gave him a compilation CD by hardcore pioneers The Dream Team.
Since then more n more hardcore has stolen Daniel's heart and it has culminated in driving that passion to pursue it both as a DJ and a party promoter! in 2013 DJ Phoenix was born, taking his name from his home town back in America he created the party series Hard Envy as a platform to push his passion in a Canberra scene that for many years had not included hardcore at all in it's party plans! Against odds both hard envy and hardcore has grown in a short time under his guise and bigger and better plans continue to develop to raise the profile of Canberra's harder styles reputation.
Influences these days come from such greats of the genre as Angerfist, Paul Elstak, Neophyte and local talent Decipher & Shinra and The Saint, and these are inspiring DJ Phoenix to begin trying his hand at creating his own sound, hoping to one day take it beyond local borders and share it with the wider hardcore
