Biografie
The DIEP started off playing and recording when they were about seven years old. Recording the weekly charts and making their own megamix from it. In 1995 after winning the ID&T dj-contest it became more and more serious with playing at the infamous Thunderdome parties. Then they got more interested in house and techno and felt that this was where their heart was at and they could identify themselves with.
In the zer0s The DIEP played a lot in and around Amsterdam pumping their beats at parties like Defqon, Electronation, Teknation, Dutchtechno, alongside names as Cristian Varela, Joel Mull and Bart Skils. Their heavy sound was very appreciated among the party people, so they were booked often as a closer to get out the last drop of energy from the crowd and they did.
All of a sudden The DIEP dropped under the radar and went back into the abyss to reinvent their sound and started producing their own tracks. Inspired by producers like Steve Rachmad, Ben Klock and many others they combine the old with the new to create a new sound in techno.
Amsterdam Dance Event 2016 was their definitive comeback and getting appreciation on their new tracks from respected artists from the scene like Truncate and Estroe. With their first e.p. released January 11th on Subwoofer Records and the second already there, we can say they are back……… and how!
