Biography:
Music has always been a big part of my life. Born and raised in Eindhoven I had a normal childhood like every one else. I spent many hours listening to the latest music and copying the hottest tracks from the radio directly onto tapes. While searching for a goal in life I tried many sports and other extracurricular activities.
At the age of 14, I finally found my true passion: music. I started out with piano lessons at the 'Centrum voor de Kunsten' (Centre for Arts) in Eindhoven. I learned to read notes and understand the structure of music, skills which would come in handy later on in my dj-career. But unfortunately I quit my piano lessons after four years because I wasn't enthusiastic about it anymore.
At the age of 16, I visited my first house-party, Mysteryland at Airport Eindhoven. The music there had such a great impact on me, that I became a regular visitor of dancefestivals and houseparties. Especially hardcore and gabberhouse, the hardest type of dancemusic, got to be my favorite. While watching dj's play their music I always looked amazed and wished that some day I could be the one who got the party going!
That was the moment when I decided to get my own set of turntables and mixer, together with a friend of mine. We got 2 Soundlab turntables, a Gemini 626-Pro mixer, a few hardcore records and starting practising. Many months of practice passed, and finally I felt the urge to put myself on the test. I taped one of my mixes and started entering dj-contests. To my big surprise I was invited to play at some small dj-contests and eventually even at a Thunderdome party in Leeuwarden! Unfortunately this turned out to be a step too high. But I didn't give up hope and kept on dj-ing at birthday parties.
But as time passed by the music changed and ofcourse so did my taste in music. I started to listen more to trance and hardtrance. I also spent more and more money on my new hobby: the number of records grew rapidly and I sold my old Soundlab-turntables for 2 new Technics SL-1200's. Also a new mixer had to be bought after an accident with a glass of alcohol so I got the best of them all, the Dateq XTC. With this new equipment and style of music I once again tried to get some bookings and this time I succeeded!
with the help of Menno de Jong we started out our own organisation called Xcessive and even got some bookings at local disco's in Eindhoven and even got our own residence at Danscafe de Yes where we have both dj-ed every fridaynight. I also have had some bookings last year for organizations like Coalition, Utopia Events and others.
I've currently gotten my Bachelor degree and am now working fulltime at a internetmedia company. But ofcourse i'm still active on dj-ing and i've returned back to my roots: HARDCORE! U can see me on various hardcore parties as i'm trying to set my name as an Early Hardcore Dj! Check your partyschedule for my next gig!
