Now that I've heard the rumor I must say it made me laugh my ass off. I´ve seen Proteus spin the records at least once in two weeks for the last 3½ years (last time was yesterday) and I can assure you all he's the real thing and the rumor is complete rubbish.

i believe that he's real good , a lot of liveact's are also real good but still they play with a cd on..

I'm very aware how most "lives" are played and some dj's may even do as you said. However, I know for a fact that isn't what Proteus does. I think I get a pretty close look into what he's doing behind the decks as I shoot photographs right next to him on a regular basis.

It would be nice to know who has started such a rumor and to serve what purpose?

I found this topic at last Heard all about it last weekend but now I'm finally gonna post here as well. Still need to listen to the mixes where everybody is talking about but I've heard some stuff on stt dj radio from our friend "down under" sonic-xl

Just like to the whole proteus rumour, last time (and first time ) I saw him was @ impulz in december and even if the rumour was true. I would still like the guy. This doesn't mean I believe all the rumours, but just to say that I've never seen a DJ like proteus gone THAT wild behind the decks... Just great to see!

I don't know if you're being sarcastic, 'cause it sounded a bit like that, but here's the answer anyway:

Currently I'm most of the time using Sony's F707 (which is a couple of years old model) with Contax's TLA 30 as an external slave flash unit. I also use Canon´s 300D (I'm planning on getting one for myself within a couple of months or before DanceValley anyway.) or D10 every now and then with a varying set of "extra goods."

For shooting video I use Sony's IP-55, which doesn't quite do the trick and I'm not very fond of it. During this summer I will however use Sony's DCR-TRV900 for shooting and for editing Canopus' DVStorm2 Pro+, which should give me a better change to provide all you people better quality.

I think this is about the amount of tech-talk anyone can stand?

No no, I ain't being sarcastic I'm really into photographing (been a partyreporter for partyvibes since December 2002)!

Ah, I use the F717 since the 27th of februari and I'm quite fond of it
I still need to buy a external flash unit though. Today I bought a UV-Filter and a Suncap (for the festivals ).
I really wouldn't recommend a 300D camera for partyphotographing though. It's really fragile. If you want a DLSR camera, buy (like you said) a D10 or a D70 or something.
Then you only have to buy some really good light sensitive lenses ( F/1.4 ) and some telelens crap to make the whole complet (and your wallet poorer ).



I would love to see some video's. With my old camera (Canon S50) I could take good videos (better than I can record with my 717 anyway). Not as good as digital video camera though, but for a photo camera it's really good
Can't show you any videos though, Don't have the server space for it atm. But I have alot from dance valley, Impulz Outdoor, Godskitchen, hardhouse academy etc.

But I don't want to walk around at a party with a huge video camera, I already find my 717 big to logde around at a party

Your saying your going to dance valley as well, Do you have everything covered? With covered I mean... Presslist and stuff? If not I could help you get the correct email adres to send it too
