ok, I am from venezuela so my english is not very good...
i had the same problem and I did everything I could find. ok first,
uninstall MSN then I reinstalled internet explorer 6, then you have to check in "help", "about internet explorer" if you have an encription of 128 bit because hotmail uses this kind of encryption tu access your inbox, if you have 0 bits or other you will have to go to www.microsoft.com and download the lates encryption package.
ok that solve my problem accesing my mail through internet explorer.
but when I tried to conect my messenger it showed this error code 0x81000370 and something about a problem with my internet conection.
ok to solve this problem you have to do many things:
first go to "tools" "internet options" then go to security and set you internet security level as low, then go to "andvaced options" and check "use SSL 2.0" and "use SSl 3.0" this are other tools of security that hotmail needs, and uncheck the one that says (i will put this in spanish because I dont know how to translate.. if someone can please quote it) "comprobar la revocacion del certificado de autentificacion".
finally go to the general tab and delete all the temporary internet files
delete also all the cookies and clear the history
finally the step that solved all my problems... it apears that some dlls tha MSN used got someway deleted or corrupted, y recomend donwload new ones from the internet and then reinstall them like this:
Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 SOFTPUB.DLL" (w/o the quotes). You should see a popup message that this process succeeded.
then do the same with INITPKI.DLL and with MSSIP32.DLL, remember if you donwload this dllls from the net be sure to put them in the folder windows/system
