Well, you could try writing some dutch sentences to me through a PM and I'll respond back in dutch and tell you how it should be written etc.
Here is also a site I used to learn some Spanish with: so basically writing it down -> repeating it until I remembered them

One other thing: please do not adapt the hard G accent (so do not use the pronounciation on the site). It does not make dutch sound prettier.

thabks! ive been using some tapes and books and i think i am more than above basic knowledge but the speaking bit is soooo hard! that's why i am trying to get lessons!

Rolling r is less of a problem, but still it's an accent.It's better to have neutral accent when speaking dutch.

Well there is more or less a neutral way of saying it, so you have no: hard G, melody in speaking, rolling r or any other typical thing.
It basically is pronouncing it as how it is written en then pronounced without any particular thing.
BTW since you are from Spain also notice the pronunciation differences (double LL, UA, H, etc)

Some, not all. In Rotterdam for instance they do not. Her accent is not really strong compared to for instance people from Dordrecht/Amsterdam, but you can hear the hard G in there.
In my opinion it is best to have a neutral accent, otherwise you could be judged like "oh it's someone from there and there" (aka I don't like/want to help these people). This is sadly true sometimes. On the other hand, I have never heard someone speaking dutch of which I didn't recognize that he/she was not actually dutch.
So if you really want to sound dutch and be recognized as native dutch speaker, you have a very long road to take anyway. So people would not judge you in the sense that they would judge a native dutch with a certain accent.
One way to find out the different accents is that you spend a few days speaking dutch in Rotterdam, then Amsterdam, then Maastricht, then Groningen and then Leeuwarden. So you can hear it for yourself and maybe make your own preference

haha i can already hear the differences! amsterdam is sooooo loud and weird sounding! and then maastricht sounded a bit goofy and farmerish i though! i work in utrecht and i like the way the dutch sound there
& yeah i think i would have years before i sound non native. right now i have been told by everyone that my accent is so strong and its actually really funny to them because they dont hear it often

If they talk dutch it is still a bit weird, but less than the dialect of course
I am from near there, but they have the habit of talking in dialect even if you speak normal dutch.The surrounding villages/cities should have a less strong dialect and accent (unless you're near Kerkrade)

I think it's a very difficult thing to do in almost languages. All the foreign people I've heard speaking Spanish tend to pronounce some words in a slightly different way, so they were betraying their foreign birth. Themselves feel that they have been betrayed, and as you said before, it's sadly sometimes.
Everyone has an accent in their native form of speech, which is very hard to reach for foreign people, even if they are able to speak the language fluently.
I could imagine it's the same thing in Dutch, so Dutch people could be able to recognize Belgian people speaking Flemish language.

i still think its amazing that everyone can tell what city youre from just by an accent in such a SMALL country!!!
