what i think of Holland?

here's my experience: to foreigners (or at least me) the dutch are at first friendly in a general-polite, but a bit superficial way.

in the very beginning it was a bit hard to make real friends and be fully integrated which actually makes sense as a lot of foreigners leave again after a year or so, so a lot of people don't really bother trying to build up in-depth friendships/relationships if they are already bound to fall apart from the very start..

however once those people realized that i live here permanently and probably stay here indefinitely (it's life so you can never know what will happen in the future) this behavior changed from the superficial-polite-way to a real warm and family-like acceptance, that i wouldn't want to miss anymore..

last time after i visited my family and my native country, i was actually really happy to be "back home in holland"

I think holland is oke. I dont like our queen though. I really dont see the point of having a monarchy. I mean whats the use? International relations can be kept by the prime-minister too i would think, and it just pisses me off you can get a ticked for calling her names. I also really despise all-dutch programms such as, de kantine, ik hou van holland etc ect. We do have the most extreme ways of cursing (allthough im not sure thats a thing to be proud of). We have good health care, good Infrastructure and (had) a good Drug policy. Holland isent bad its just a shame everyone on the entire planet thinks were a part of germany and our captitol is copenhagen .

I love Holland!! No one parties like the Dutch do. I've been to NL like 10 times in the past 3 years, mainly for work, but always for a party or two while I'm there.

So far I have been to:

Emporium
Thunderdome
In Control
Q-Base
Mysteryland

....Just to name a few. This year I am already planning on going to BassRulers, Emporium, and Mysteryland. If you are going to any of these, please come say "Hi" to me, I'll be one of the only black guys there

I think the biggest differences between partying in the Netherlands and the States (other than the drugs, better DJ's, and huge crowds) is just how nice everyone is. In the States guys like to look tough and fight the other guys, while girls like to act stuck up and talk about the other girls. In Holland people just want to have fun...if they see you into the music then they get into the music. If you are in a daze staring at the lights, they will make fun of you, then stare at the lights with you

i like Holland.
it will always be my number 1 country to visit, but we left Holland for a reason and im happy we went to Canada.

I love Holland.. Definitely the best country in europe.
- Especially if you're into hardcore
