:Journey:
Finally it was Friday and I took a day off to prepare all things for my 26th party in Holland. A friend of mine organised a bus service from Switzerland directly to Decibel. But I wanted to go by car because then you can go home at the time you want or to the next event
. I planned to drive off on Saturday morning at 0300 and then directly to the event. So I went to bed at 22.00, one hour later I was still awake and not able to sleep. So I decided to drive off now and then I'll search for a hotel near Gorinchen. First I was setting the car naviga-tion, which I've just got for testing, with the destination "Gorinchen", after 1 minute it finally found a route and a crapy voice of an 80 year old grandma told me "Bei der nächsten Kreuzung rechts abbiegen", well enough about that . It was not the first time I drove by car to the Netherlands so I knew they way from mind (luckily). the Navigator wanted me to take the german highway which has the most time a max. speed of 130. but normally I take the other and so I did this time again. During the whole journey I was listening to the Technoboy live set of Q-Base for about 4 times
, what a nice warm-up At 0500 Saturday morning I was allready in front of a hotel in Utrecht and took a room to get some hours of sleep. At 0930 I stood up again, took a shower checked out and went to direction Gorinchen. This time I was happy that I had a navigation because I had no idea where to go. Point 10.30 I arrived at the Lingebos and parked in this godv***** muddy field. I'm not wondering that you almost never see a "low" car in Holland
. After that I was walking to the main entrance where I meet up with some of the guys which came with the bus from Switzerland. Then I walked back to the Press entrance and at 1101 I was finally at Decibel.The Party:
I walked immediately to the munten box and bought for 45 euros coins. 3 minutes later I was enjoying my first Heineken
. another 20 Minutes and 2 beer later I meet up with the rest of the Swiss party-gangsters and Oli my mainjätter (LOL) . We walked around the whole area and were surprised about this beautiful location! It was easy to find each area and in a few minutes you walked from the first to the last floor. Our first Stage was the Hardcore Area which was already pretty busy. We were staying there for a bit more then 90 minutes. In the meantime I meet some of my Dutch friends. After this we left the HC floor and waited at the food area for my friend Torben from Germany. After a few minutes he arrived there and we drunk something. I took my bottle of Smirnoff to take a sip, a second later I felt that there's something hard in my mouth. I just wanted to spit it out, in the same time it started to hurt. As I watched on the floor I saw that it was a wasp (bee) which stung into my lip. Luckily I'm not allergic. Oli and I went to the EHBO that they could take the sting out of my mouth, and they give me some kind of wet cotton which made my lips getting smaller again . After this chapter I needed some wodka to clean the wound . Btw. that's one of the only things which suck at Dutch partys. The mixdranken are absolutely crap
. You can drink tons of them and you don't get drunken. The only thing you get is a problem with your stomach . So I stayed more or less by the Heinekens . The next DJ we wanted to see was Blackmail, the Swiss newcomer in hardstyle. It was a nice beukie beukie set full of energy. I'm sure you'll see him again in Holland! Then we went to the hardtrance area where Dave202 was playing his set. Oh my god, this was sooo f*** loud in there! Luckily I had my earplugs with me. There were not a lot people but still it was a lot of fun! After that I went back to my car to park it on the VIP parking on a hard underground, be-cause if it would rain for some time I would have serious problems to get out of the field.
Then we went for a short time to Pavo at the open-air floor. Punctually to the beginning of Prophets set we were back in the hardstyle tent. NOW the real party began
During the whole set I stayed in this floor and was "beuking" to Dov's set. The whole crowd was going wild and supported him. The next DJ we wanted to see was Luna at the open-air stage. It was around 1830 and I already used all my munten. Herewith a tip: Never start inviting your friends to Flügel! You'll get broken
.Also Lunas set was great as normal, the same for the bit I heard of Dana
And then finally it was time for the one and only TECHNOBOY
the MASTER of HARDSTYLE He stepped onto the stage and the crowd totally freaked out, then you heard the first beats of one of his brandnew tracks "K-Traxx - Little Red Noisy Thing", that's exactly the style I love he continued with "Giada - Diamond" and almost a classic "Traum - The Frame". He went on with his awesome style, one new track after the other. During the last months he always played some jumpstyle tracks during his sets. But if I can remember right, this time not one
In my mind it was one of his bests sets ever! I really hope he goes on like this! Can't wait to hear him at Q-Base again. After Cristiano it was time for the last act tonight. Zany with his fat smile on his face entered the mainstage and started banging
. Well what should I say, it's Zany, and he always rocks the place! It was cool to see Luna, Technoboy, Zany, Ruffian… partying all together on the mainstage great people!What I really don't understand is why they used a foam/bubble machine
I think that's the wrong event for something like this. The lasershow was nothing special, but still very nice. I was not able to see the firework because there was this huge tower of the mainstage in front of me…To bad that they stopped exactly at 2300! They should at least play 15min. longer
After:
At 2315 I left the the area to go back to my car. I slept at a friends place near the ger-man/dutch boarder. I needed about 40min. just to leave the parking area, but luckily I had the Technoboy live set of Q-Base with me
Overview:
It was another great weekend in Holland and absolutely worth it! I liked the 2005 edition more then the one last year, even if it was over day. All DJs I saw played great sets. The lightshow and decoration was good. The soundsystem just perfect. But please put more alcohol in the mixed drinks!
