Its been a while since I last wrote a "verslag" and I thought why not since I was on the party of the year but however something seem different. sorry for the English but this was an international party and well my Dutch needs some upgrading so here it goes. ;)

So the story begins in Almere around 6 p.m. when I decide to go and pick up my friends and head to our 5th Q-base. After 2 hours of driving and a wrong detour we were @ the party site. parked the car . and went straight in since we were on the guest list (Y)

I managed to come in and listen to the last minutes to one of my favorite Hardstyle DJ`s. DJ Zany. Great beats as always and this guy always seems to have the best records in his bag at every party. So I thought to my self that this will be yet an other great Q-Base like I always knew it was. however. the night went differently then I thought :(

I was off to D-Block & E-Ste-Fan where a full hangar was jumping to the amazing beats in which they were playing very loud I must say. I could feel the bass through my whole body and the crowd seemed to be enjoying it as well. But I noticed something after a while which I didn`t like and well which I had also seen on Mysteyland. The hardstyle tracks have changed. There was bass and then it stopped and then there was melody which went down as well. MC talked a few lines. melody goes up and then the MC talks again and then 1 minute of bass and then. it was gone again :S

Now excuse me for being ignorant and arrogant which I am allowed to be since I was there since the first day that Hardstyle started back in 2001 (officially before I get quoted wrong in this site ;) )

This is not the music I fell in love with 7 years ago. Then it was continuous bass, continuous stampen , going crazy, singing along, and together with the DJ`s making it the music that it is today. One Music. One Family. I stood there the whole night from Area 1 to Area 2 to Area 3 to Area 4 and back to 3-2-1. and I heard everywhere the same. Whether the DJ was the Prophet or Frontliner it was the same to me. By the way Frontliner played some old tracks in which he does get credit but not enough to make up in what I was seeing or better yet hearing.

Now don`t get me wrong. I am a huge Q-Dance fan and I hold nothing against the organization since everything was arranged perfectly like always. Sounds, lasers, decoration, food, drinks, etc. Absolutely perfect (Y) And I must thank them as well for having the GZG hide out in the back where I enjoyed my evening as well with those funky minimal beats (Y) :respect: . However the quality of Hardstyle has dropped a lot in the last year and if they want this music to survive and be what it should be. I suggest they re-think their productions before making up a new track for the new generation to jump and listen to. What I heard last Saturday was Hard-hard Trance not Hardstyle

Unfortunately I didn`t have the chance to hear Alpha Twins & Deepack since the friends I was with were tired and well "sober" so I headed back to Holland not having the chance to draw my final conclusions about a party in which made me think differently about the music I love.

I have no idea if artists read this "verslag" and if they give a f**k if some Greek-American immigrant tells his opinion on how he thinks about the music they make and play. As a fan and as living though 7 years of party after party, I should have the right to criticize most of them ( Zany,Showtek, & A-Lusion are not included ). And I am sure there is more people who have been in the scence for years and see and hear what I see and must agree to this. I mean what happened to the "knallers-hits" like Shizzle my Dizzle, Porn, Cocaine MF, Disc Warrior, and Stampen in which left a era in the years which passed? Q-base 2006 was one big ass going crazy party ever. And now 2 years later it seemed like a lot had changed :(

Q-Dance did everything to make them big and bring them to the level in which they were today. They should respect that and give back to their fans like they use to do back in the days when it all started. (Y)

Anyway maybe I am just an old guy who cares too much about these things and says his opinion. Probably I will get criticized by all the young people in this site who recently started listening to hardstyle and tell me to stay home if I don`t like it :D

But maybe some people or DJ`s will read this and say I could be right. ;)

Anyway. Q-Dance. thanks again :respect: Hope that Hardstyle will go on through out the years and stay like it was. The people and the location were great(Y).

Hopefully Scantraxx will make everything okay again. See you all on the 4th of October.

Greetz,

Alexandros Starros

And that's exectly why i dont like hardstyle for a long time anymore...

Only a vieuw dj's in the past played nice hardstyle for me. Dana was always going and going and then a dj after started, with breaks al the fucking time (N)... Finaly go crazy and 32 beats later standing still for a minut... After 30 minutes my legs just wont go anymore. (verzeuren)

Nice 'verslag' ;)

Like u said allready.....

Better stay @ home... No, i'm just joking!
But the most silly thing out of ur comment is that you do like Zany, and for example A-Lusion, but whats so different then with these guys and their style?? :vaag:

A-Lusion is one of my fav's and if u r talking about "Hardstyle is more like Hard hardtrance nowadays" then how do you call the sound of A-Lusion?? :( If there is 1 DJ that puts lots of Melody combined with a fierce Kick in his music it's A-Lusion, so how do u call that then?? Hard hard hard trance?? :(

If you don't like a kind of music ok that's possible, but stay on one line then and don't say that Zany etc etc don't play the Hardstyle u don't like. Because that's ballony :).... It all sounds often the same nowadays (that's right) and it's got (thank God.. :p ) nothing more 2 do with the "older" Hardstyle from the start of 2001. And that opinion's got nothing 2 do with age!! :D

And I think u'd better sell ur ticket for Scantraxx 2 someone who does like the "new" Hardstyle, because there will be probably nothing that will satisfy ur musical needs! (I hope i'm wrong 4u but.....). 2bad 4 u mate, but it is like it is. If u can't stand the new Hardstyle heat, stay away from the new flames.......

Perhaps till the 4th of October, will be a great party 4 sure!! :D

It was your 5th Q-base right? What have you been doing the last 4 times, since you haven't heard the music changing??

Of course it doesn`t but I din`t say that far back my dear friend but I brought up tracks from a year back or 2 years ago. I am focusing more on the last year..

Well I have actually my friend... after Xq Showtek last january I noticed the music changing towards an other beat. And again don`t get me wrong!!! Its not that is hard... its just less bass more melody and more MC`en then before. I don`t want to fucking clap my hands all the time like if I am at a Anouk concert and wave my hands in the air like if I am with Tiesto

I want Bass, I want it raw, and I want it to hear the sounds that I like.

Anyway. We can discuss this all winter long but hey at the end we`ll still disagree

See you all on Scantraxx

you've been going to dutch parties for over 5 years ... been living there for how long?
So how the hell is it that you don't bother or try to put a dutch report here ;-)

I'll put on a shirt with "I love the old days" on it, especially 4 you!! hahahahahah

:D
I agree whit this guy.

You should have try cally and juice in the ammo 9. :respect:
They played the good hardstyle music.
And the chick who came after them played also good hardstyle. ( frisky ofzo )

Moest da nou ech in t engels :rot:

Mee eens!

Blijf orgineel!

Peace out.
