·Katapult is Amsterdam's one and only slice of midweekmayhem, smack in the middle of the week, dab in the centre of town, crammed full of awesome sound.
Awarded 'best new party' of 2008 during the 13th edition of the Golden Gnome awards in Paradiso, Katapult has established itself as a premier event in Amsterdam nightlife, presenting the what's what of today's underground dance music with razor-sharp line-ups of local heroes and international talent, framed by imagery from contemporary video artists.
It's hard to know what to expect at Katapult, moving musically accross all forms of contemporary dance, from ghostly disco to psychedelic dubstep and jacking house, occasionally hitting oldskool electro and sleazy club beats for good measure. Since the summer of 2009, this horizon has been extended even further to include trendsetting and often avant-garde liveacts from across the globe, in cooperation with the excellent Subbacultcha!
Hosted by The Heykids, Katapult attracts a highly diverse crowd of hipsters, hustlers and hobos united only in their will to party, plus a stunning lack of obligations on Thursdays.
