female:pressure is an online database and network of women*, AFAB, transgender, transfeminine, transmasculine, intersex (+gender optional), genderqueer, gender nonconforming, a-gender or/and non-binary artists in electronic music and digital arts. The network comprises almost 2500 DJs, musicians, composers, VJs, visual artists and also bookers, promoters, journalists and researchers from 77 countries around the globe.

We intend to raise the visibility of artists and make information about them easily available. femalepressure.net is a worldwide resource of talent and can be searched for geographic locations, professions, styles and artist names.

We also enhance the exchange of knowledge and collaborations amongst each other. Several radio shows, workshops, parties, compilations, podcast series, research projects, public statements and quite a lot of individual cooperations emerged from this fairly diverse swarm of people.

female:pressure was awarded an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica for digital communities in 2009 and won the Fair Music Award in 2007.
