Last night, October 28th, Tiësto once again topped DJ Magazine’s TOP 100 list, the only list voted for by the public worldwide. The year 2004 has been a ground-breaking year filled with a world tour through Asia, North- and South-America and almost every other country around the globe. A very successful Ibiza season, winning awards worldwide, producing two artist albums and a pioneering performance during the official opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens. Winning for the third time in a row is a big crown on his career and clearly shows that Tiësto is the world’s superstar DJ.
The year 2004 has been a year that Tiësto took by storm. It started out with an extensive world tour through South-America including performances in Argentina, Brazil and Chile. After that Asia with performances in China, Vietnam and Japan. Besides that he toured through North-America and other countries like Russia, the UK, Spain and Poland. This year’s summer Tiësto once again rocked Ibiza with 11 performances at Cream Amnesia every Thursday.
Between this world tour, Tiësto managed to finish his artist album Just Be in May and launched it successfully with release parties all over the world. The title song of his Just Be artist album is currently climbing the charts and is heard on dance floors everywhere.
In October 2003, Tiësto was asked to perform during the parade of the athletes at the official opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens. He played 90 minutes live for over 70.000 people in the stadium and for a crowd of billions of viewers all over the world watching the event on their television. Tiësto created lots of new music for this once in a lifetime opportunity which resulted in the artist album Parade of the athletes.
Tiësto is closing this fantastic year with new editions of Tiësto In Concert in Holland and Belgium, another tour through North- and South-America and a special New Years Eve party in Los Angeles.
All together, the year 2004, has been a year filled with highlights and winning almost every imaginable award in dance music. Topping DJ Magazine’s TOP 100 list for the third time in a row is the crown on Tiësto’s year of hard work, extensive touring and innovating contribution to the development of dance music worldwide.
