Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer: List of new killstreaks, perks and team perks
We have some really tasty information for those of you planning to pick up Modern Warfare 3 in November and let’s face it – a lot of you are. A vast array of multiplayer details have seemingly been leaked prior to the game’s release and we can now bring you information on new perks and killstreak lists.
The information has surfaced from Kotaku, as their inside sources have delivered yet more exclusive information to them after they were the first ones to publish detailed info regarding the MW3 campaign mode.
For now though, it’s all about the new perks and killstreaks, and according to their report, Modern Warfare 3 will introduce something known as team perks, which works the way it suggests – unlocking perks as a team when certain criteria are met.
Team perks mentioned so far include Stopping Power, Stun Protection, Health Regen and Blast Shield. It will be interesting to see how these are unlocked, and how they will be received by Call of Duty fans if the team perk feature is confirmed to be true. Do you like the idea of healing as a unit?
New perks have also been leaked, and they include Recon – radar based, Dead Silence – no footsteps, Blind Eye – immune to player controlled and computer controlled killstreaks, also has a pro version offering extra bullet damage to vehicle and faster lock-ons with launchers, Assassin – similar to cold blooded, i.e – immune to UAV, and other sensors, also no red crosshair with the pro version, and finally Point Guard – every two assists add a kill to your current killstreak, we love the sound of that.
As you can see, some interesting additions there. Obviously it isn’t the full list yet but Point Guard sounds the most interesting out of the new perks, and it looks like a perk which is set to benefit team players who like to sit back and pick off opponents, as opposed to those who storm maps ‘all guns blazing’ so to speak.
Now on to the subject of killstreaks. According to the report, 11 killstreaks have been named so far, and you’ll find the list below for your reference:
EMP Grenade: Same as Modern Warfare 2
Littlebird: Small, controllable chopper
Precision Airstrike: Same as MW2
Stealth bomber: Carpet bomb similar to MW2
Remote Turret: Sentry Gun
Directional UAV: Pick your area for the UAV plane to scan
Remote Mortar: Use a zoomed camera to call in a tactical mortar strike
Airdrop Trap: A booby-trapped care package
Ammo Resupply: Reload your kit with this standard ammo drop
Escort Airdrop: A ”protected” airdrop.
Specialist Strike Package: Details unknown at the moment
Now that list is subject to change of course, but it looks like those killstreaks are going to make up the core list for Modern Warfare 3, with a few additions still to come perhaps. What are your initial thoughts on the killstreaks, do you like them?
