I am planning my trip already for Mistery Land next August and I need some info.
Due to disruption of air travel in Europe caused by volcanic eruption, so I'm thinking over the possibility of travel by my own car from Spain to Netherlands.
I'm thinking about it since, according to Icelandic's geologist, eruption could continue for a year or more. :/
The distance between home and Amsterdam is 1776 km. I love driving very much so it's not a problem to me. :)

I have some questions:

What is the speed limit for Dutch roads?
It's true that parking might be difficult in Amsterdam?
Does it allow free parking in almost all urban districts or not?
Can you tell me some great places to visit? :)

If you gonna stay for a few days or a week it might be an option to choose for the PARK and RIDE (p+r) places, you gonna pay 6 euro's a day INCLUDING a ticket for tram or metro to central station, there you'll be able to get the train to hoofddorp or other ways to travel to Mysteryland.

Haarlem is worth visiting too, and more places like Volendam. At least you muste have seen them once, but ok I don't know for how long you gonna stay. Amsterdam is always great, there are many things to do.

If u like pool and a bit of dancing: go to club8 (Admiraalde ruyterlaan)

If u got a huge hangover (from mysteryland or other), have a chill at the Mirandabad! (De Mirandalaan) Its a swimmingpool with a couple fun things and sauna/turkish steamthings.

If the weather is good: get yourself some cold beer, buy a football, roll a bunch of spliffs and go to the Vondelpark.

Also the Artis zoo is fun, take along some weed if you like smoking. If you can get mushrooms go to Artis aquarium. Artis is a bit expensive (18 euros) but really nice. If you want a cheaper zoo you might want to check the Bijlmer. Its famous of its humanoids who do al kind of funny things.

I think I must park my car and get public transportation for travel through Netherlands. I will drive my car just for round trip.

What about traffic jams in Randstad?
What time of day does traffic jams occur?
I'll go to Netherlands via Antwerpen, according to my GPS.

Mind that, when driving with your Spanish car in Holland, that your insurance is valid and covers basic things when an accident occurs. Also a Spanish car is not very familiar in Holland so it might be a police magnet, so be 'carefull' ;)

And in Holland the Dutch people get extremely violent when you parc your car the Spanish way (using the bumpers)...... I am not joking.

LOL

Violent? A bit cross maybe... You should learn to park a car without damaging it ;)

For many Dutch people a car is more important than anything else in the world, so you are not allowed to touch it....

I consider myself a good driver, I'm always careful and I don't use the bumpers :)

One of my dreams. I've been in Holland like every month, since 2009 september (my first trip to NL) but I've never been in A'dam or R'dam or Utrecht or any big cities :$

Why don't you go to those cities then? Don't stay in those small villages. They are pathetic...no style at all...

nope, just park your car in some redneck farmer village where's no fee involved and take a bus to a town where your hotel is, and go for the smaller not so touristic towns. Public transport is often much cheaper than parking your car in Amsterdam.....
