Most of the restaurant are not comparable with french restaurants and only a few call themselve that way actually, it's usually more "international/mediteranean" food.If you're looking for typical french food in the netherland you'll be disapointed however there are some good ones, just different style.Even Ciel Bleu in Hotel Okura (Amsterdam) says he's a french restaurant, i haven't really found any french specialities there but they make really good food, let's say modern cooking "french inspired".I would recommand that one, it's a 2 star Michelin, nice view on amsterdam as it's located on the 23th floor of the hotel.

However, for the cheese, you can find that, also in some small shops (in A'dam: "la fromagerie", Marnixstraat, has got quite a large choice, very good stuffs).Same for the Cote du Rhone but it coasts quite a lot here.

Mc Donald's in Holland is totally 100 % better than in Italy !!!
but the nicest and cheapest restaurant i've been in Holland was the one in Eindhoven, Bella Roma if i'm not wrong... it's in the middle of the town, i'm gonna look for the name of the street.. i just remember that's in a place in front of a Mc Donald's... really really good!!!

I'm sure it's the same one, but there's a very good Italian in Eindhoven, in a street in front of the train station near the cinema (there's quite a lot of restaurants in that street actually), they've got very good pizza's (and they are really hard to find in Holland!)

I would like to eat Spanish food, Dutch food and Italian food during my trip to Amsterdam.
Spanish food at least one time because I will miss it.
Italian food because I love spaghetti and pizza.
Dutch food because I would like to taste Dutch specialities.
Only I will eat junk food as a last resort.

that's basicly what dutch specialities are
Uitspraak van Ba bam ba bam op maandag 10 augustus 2009 om 23:33:hope at least it´s not spicy food
no but there a lot of asian restaurants, often spicy then, and it's actually much better than the dutch food
In 2009 in the Netherlands I found a place to eat. What do they have there? It's an Italian restraunt selling rolls, pasta and coffee. Where is it? It's in Weena, Rotterdam, in a shopping mall near the Hilton. Why I like it - You get to see Dutch people relaxing and chatting there. It's also very roomy. I have a place to avoid too, that's MaCkers in The Hague Train station. What they have there? Normal Mackers stuff. Where? It's on the ground floor, The Hague Train Station. Why to avoid? The staff kind of look down at you here. I had a bad experience here but in The Netherlands I have found places to eat by just taking a walk around the block. You chill

Then you have to try hutspot, stampie, zuurkool or boerenkool.
Can't get it in restaurants though
From the 24th august it will be "restaurant week" in Holland. You can get a 3 courses meal for 25 euros.

Well.. not everywhere! more in the country side yes, but a main course in a city is usually around 17/25 euros. Which is basicly the same in Holland.
25 euros for a 3 courses menu is ok i think if you get that in a pretty good restaurant. Some Michelin restaurants participate too

Otaru is also OK, and Sushi voor half price is always great
Tokyo Cafe is pretty nice, but I don't really like the hurrying atmosphere and the way things go there.. quality is indeed pretty good though
