German initiative to reduce traffic congestions

The town of Bohmte in the Lower Saxony had removed all the road signs, pedestrian crossings and traffic lights. The outcome is streets full of cyclists and pedestrian.

I think there is a city somewhere in the north of the netherlands that tried or is trying a similar system..
