yeahhh, so i heard a snipet of the new Scooter album on the tele; there was a couple of tunes that had a canny resemblance to hardstyle? (eyebrows raised...)

whats everyone make of this then?
i couldn't care less really, i just wana know what the more devote hardstyle fans think?

well, no actually; the ad on tv showed about 6-7 tunez, mostly vvvery cheesy stuff, but a few tunez wher pretty much hardstyle & jump lol

I'm a devotee to hardstyle classics (1998-2002), today's shit is so crap that I think even the most cheezy Hands Up trance like Scooter or Ultrabeat is better

However I regard Scooter as an important part in the musical upbringing of kids, if they like it, the step to liking serious dance music such as hard trance and hard house is much smaller

It's not the first time that Scooter is on TV... He's always made commercial shit stuffs anyway so it's very naturaly that he turned into Hardtyle

Not quite, well commercial yes, but not shit. Nessaja was a great hard trance track back in 2002, as were Posse (I Need You On The Floor) and Ramp! (The Logical Song)

you should listen to the club mixes of those tunes, without the chipmunk vox in it, really well produced and really hard pumping trance

But not strange when you realize that Jay Frog (Planet Trax remixes, producer of Miss Thunderpussy, Angel of Death on Tracid Traxx etc) was behind all productions from 1998-2006.

just listened to 'The Quesion Is What Is The Question' ... not bad ...

The album is ok - but a true follower will recognise a few sounds and tunes have been borrowed from hardstyle and jump tunes. That being said, I enjoyed the new stuff especially Lighten Up The Sky.
Scooter is made for the charts and if it helps the UK catch on to jump and hardstyle then I'm all for it. I just wish the MC didnt ruin half the tunes with his nonsensical lyrics :L

the scooter album is really a waste of money... i actually bought a scooter album back in 2000 and all the traxx on the "jumping around the world" album, are on the album i bought 7 years ago obviously cos of the "question what is the question" track (which i fuckin love btw) doin well all over europe, they have seen an opportunity to make more money - hence 10 traxx or so being re-released commercial twats

As for the original point of the topic no i dont think its sounds like tardstyle... tardstyle is slighty faster i think it sounds more like old dutch gabber

This is their first UK release since 2002, and it has just went into the charts at number 1 - beating MADONNA into number 2!

When I saw scooter play at the end of last year there were a few songs in their set that sounded very much like hardstyle.
Was lame.

But they played back in the uk so that made up for it!
