Gabber was first made in Berlin/Eastern Germany. Somehow it made it's way to Holland.
Gabba Front Berlin and Gabba Nation are a few of the first groups who started creating gabber. They even had a ride on the loveparade but were kicked out in, I think it was, 1996 because it scared of people. Then they started the Fuckparade as a protest to the Loveparade wich treated them like a black sheep.
You should try the sites of GFB, Gabba Nation or the fuckparade to find more info!

Uitspraak van roflcopter op woensdag 3 mei 2006 om 13:03:The term traces its roots back to the Hebrew word for 'mate' or 'friend'. Apocryphally, one of these gabbers wanted to enter the Roxy in Amsterdam, where the bouncer said, "No, gabber, you can't come in here." Source of the Dutch term for the genre, "gabberhouse", was DJ "Hardy" Ardy Beesemer.
yeah hun i already know this but i need to know the first gabber producer because this person is saying he owns the gabber scene and knows all about it and he is nothing i just wanted to proove him wrong and i thought dutch pple would know because it is dutch music

Uitspraak van Lady Nefarious op woensdag 3 mei 2006 om 12:43:thats dosent explaine why its called DUTCH HARDCORE???
Gabber isn't always Dutch hardcore.
Uitspraak van skoebenakkie op woensdag 3 mei 2006 om 13:03:i think dj rob& mc joe were the first...
I thought DJ Rob took it over from Paul Elstak and probably Rob Fabrie (Waxweazle/Headbanger), but I could be wrong!
I just found this:
Here it says that the first HARDCORE record in Holland "beat is flown" is, produced by DJ Rob. It also says the term HARDCORE is a better description then GABBER. So I think you can conclude that Gabber is really something different compared to Hardcore.

yes it is but over here we call uk hardcore happy and dutch hardcore gabber
i saw a site that said there was a big dispute about gabber the germans say they created it and the dutch say they did oh well its gonna be a hard one to find out i guess but ill stick with the german for now since you are the only one with a valid point but can you name the person?

Some people say gabber originated in Germany (Frankfurt) becuase of the track produced by Marc Acardipane called We Have Arrived which was released in 1991 but apparently written in 1989!
There was a scene in Parkzicht in Rotterdam from 1991 onwards when Paul Elstak and Rob Fabrie were releassing records on Hithouse as The Holy Noise, these are early gabberhouse tracks.
For me, gabber is Dutch and was born in Rotterdam but this debate will go on forever.

sucsess thank you very much thats the name of the german guy and that makes perfect sence thanks heaps
the start of house actually was in america, and it was in a kind of warehouse thing in detroit i believe, but from then on, it is really hard to say what is gabber, since there has been mellow and hardcore and house and gabber, and no one exactly knows anymore which dj's belonged to what sub groups
i mean look at the kinds of music in the profiles here of the dj's, it usually states at least 3 kinds of styles
but the first one, I don't think anyone knows his name
having an argument with your boyfriend or?

thats the 1
As far as I'm aware Gabba Front Berlin and Gabba Nation came on the scene long after it started in Frankfurt in Germany, although I believe Sacha from GN played at the first Mayday rave in Berlin in 1991 >respect<
Gabberhouse came about from DJs pitching up hardcore and detroit techno tracks originally, then producing their own harder style with the distinctive distorted 909 bass drum

It's worth mentioning that although Marc Acardipane produced We Have Arrived it was released on Industrial Strength records 1 (as well as PCP 006) by Lenny Dee, who was also experimenting with harder house/techno sounds in around 1991 - see Bugspray on ETC records - so I'd say the following labels were responsible for the birth of hardcore techno/gabber:
PCP / Industrial Strength / Rotterdam Records / Hithouse

ISR 001 isn't actually that rare and you would be lucky to get more than £10 for it. The white vinyl release on PCP 006 is more sought after because it has Reflections of 2017 on the b-side. If I was you I'd keep it as it's a piece of history.
You can find the track We Have Arrived on ISR 001, PCP 006, Frankfurt Trax II, R&S 9202, ACA 2017.001/12 and hundreds of CD compilations and it has been remixed loads of times.
