What is/was your first thought about France.?
And what do you think about the "real" France.? Is it far from what you think?

Personally i think it sucks, a nice country but the people are kinda sucky

they're too lazy to learn English!!

And they are quite chauvenistic. Don't like that in a country. Aside from the HORRIBLE SUICIDE drivers there, The people i know who are french are nice. So there is a good side to it

stereotypically, I think of french people as snobbish and elitist, and french men in particular as effeminate. However, I know that's far from being true. The French whom I have met have been very friendly and fun.

The only problem with France are the french themselves.

French people don't even try to understand foreigners who are trying to speak french. And for some reason the french are to arrogant to learn English.

french pple i know say it is lovley and great wine and pple and all that

I can see that the french's reputation din't change, always the same remarks: people sucks, mentalities suck, to proud, etc...

All of my foreigners friends say the same things, must i have shame..??

Of course life is cheaper in Holland, food, appartment's rents, cigarettes, oil, etc...

And your purchasing power is definitely higher than french, maybe because you work muore than in France (40h/week - 35h/week).
The difference between the purchase price and the gain is larger.

don't know what to think..been only in a couple of village's near by Swiss border..but,once will come to visit Paris ...I got some french ppl friends and they are cool

The French people I know are relly nice and friendly.
Maybe the looks effeminate case the language they speak.. it's soft...

It's simple said that all people there are arrogant basterds.. I've met 1 that's really cool..

French are not arrogant. foreigners think that because they can't communicate with us, as most of the french don't speak a good english or if they know a bit of english they are too affraid that people wont understand them so they don't even try. However, people from Paris are quite "cold" and "agressive" (due to the life style, it's a big city, everybody is always rushing there, stressed, etc...) so if you've only been to Paris i understand that you get a bad opinion about the French. But Paris is not France! Of course there are also cool people in that city and when they give you an appointment, for instance, they are not much late and they come, not like in the south where people say things that they finally never do! You have to go to other cities if you wanna know France, but there you'll have the problem of the language once again...

when i say i come from paris in an holland party,everybody says that it's cool to see a french talking in english...i m not arrogant,i want just have fun and "hakke" with dutch people...
there are everywhere some bastards not only in france(i think)in holland too...but who cares??
ok french people are very very arrogant because we won the world cup in 98 ...lool..
to atomicplayboy: Paris is Not like you say...it's easy to say that because it's a big city but when you re thinking deeply,it's always the same discussion:compare a big town and a small city:in the last one,everybody know each other so it's cool,but in a big one,too many people and it's difficult to meet people etc etc...

in france,we have "la Corse" a beautifull island full of magificent landscape but the people living there, sucks really:they don't like the french people who come from the metropolitan ...same problem but in our country lool
