I remember Bristol Rovers on the last day of the season, 74/75?, turned up in the Ilderton road end about thirty handed. Important game for them, needed to win to stay up, something like that. once they were sussed out they took the pasting of their lives. Plod got them out and took them down the tunnel. For some reason they showed up again just after half time and stood back in more or less the same spot - bruised and bleeding, some of them with bandages and plasters, battered to fuck. The Wall round them left them alone and stood with them the rest of the game, a few even apologised and got a bit chummy.

Similar sort of thing happened with Sunderland a couple of years earlier. Opening day of the season, a little mob started singing in the CBL in the first half. they had hundreds on them straight away, with loads more surging round from the halfway. People from all round the ground lining up to get at them. Absolutely hammered. I recall seeing some of them sitting on the CBL steps at half time nursing their wounds and getting seen to by the St John's. Some of them were in a right state. But they'd had their pasting and were being left alone after that, more or less.

All these clowns that go to the new den and act up behind plod in the country's safest ground have no idea how lucky they are. No idea at all.

Why try to find Millwall or Soul Crew, they only have a name because of their notorious firm and always have about 150 men. I've been there once and it's a complete chaos.. but you have to find some lads of Swansea City (The Jacks) or Birmingham City FC (Zulu Warriors/Army) or West Ham United's ICF (Inter City Firm). Man Utd probably the best firm at the mo in England. Millwall can still produce the firms, same with Cardiff/Chelsea (mostly in Europe)/Birmingham( Zulus ) and I've heared about Blackpool/Blackburn and even Wigan pulling some top mobs this year...

Back in 83, i bumped into a mate in town who was of to Sheff Wed to see them play Chelsea. I originally was going to the Mansfield home game but thought fuck it , i'll go to hillsbrough instead.

Saw fuck all before the game, watched the game from the north stand. At full time we decided to leave the north stand via the lepping lanes exit.

When strolling down , we noticed 30 to 40 old wednesday lads, who seemed up for a row. I heard one picking out Chelsea boys(they all looked like boys to me) but they seemed hesitant at steaming in.

So i pipes up, are we having it or what,

Next thing i got a slap round the back of the head from a massive wed lad and he said " go on big lad you start it"

So, to his surprise i did, i wailed into a skinhead with a green pilot jacket on and all hell broke loose, Chelsea came in from everywhere and i ended up pinned against wall behind these Wed lads who did'nt run but they were'nt winning either.A few punches and kicks came our thats for sure.

i know a few hooligna s myself and they are very nice people indeed. So I dont know why people always judge so negativly about hooligans. And besides, aren't they human. I think they earn a little respect.

I have a uncle who is hooligan also. Not really the type of guy you expect it from. He's a real familyman and a hard worker. But when he is with his friends they always get in trouble.
