EDMCast.com : unsigned electronic dance music!

Een hele leuke website met podcastjes met alleen maar unsigned materiaal... Ik verzorg zelf zo af en toe een mix voor deze podcast, check out o.a. deze link:

Omdat het unsigned materiaal is en met goedkeuring van de artiesten is dit volledig legaal aangezien dit onder de creative commons licence valt:

Alle tracks die gespeeld worden zijn gratis te downloaden op Internet, check http://www.edmcast.com voor de podcasts (tot nu toe zijn er 12 geweest en ze komen ongeveer 2 maal per week uit) en de links naar de artiesten/platen die in die podcasts gespeeld worden. En de gespeelde muziek doet niet onder voor "signed" tracks, sommige platen zijn zelfs zo ontzettend goed dat ik niet kan begrijpen waarom ze nog niet gesigned zijn...

Mocht je zelf een goeie plaat gemaakt hebben en wil je hem horen op edmcast.com, laat het me weten en hij wordt gedraaid! (Als de track goed is tenminste......)

Op het moment is de podcast voornamelijk trance, maar in de toekomst zullen waarschijnlijk ook andere stijlen gedraaid worden.

Verhaaltje van de host van edmcast om een idee te geven wat het voorstelt:

The idea - we've created a downloadable radio show explicitly playing unsigned tracks from the very best of up and comming EDM producers. We're only about 10 days old, so still very new.

I know there's a lot of "unsigned" music style websites out there, but the way this differs is that it's a downloadable radio broadcast (usually 30 - 40 minutes long and new "casts" are made every 2 days or so - just to keep things fresh.) It's kind of hard to explain the entire concept in words.

If you guys have heard of "podcasting" we are also the first unsigned EDM podcast.

Our goal is to bring the unknown and lesser known producers into the light of the listeners - and the DJ's. The music i've heard on this forum alone proves that there's some amazing talent out there that simply isn't known, I want to fix that and give the exposure to the artists.

This is honestly a thread asking for your opinions on how you think the idea stands as it is now, how we can alter it and what we could do to be a better service to the talented "unsigned" EDM producers out there that make amazing music. I'll give you a link to the EDMCast website, but please - don't take this as spam! Yes, we are promoting the site, but that's a concequence of asking for help and opinions on an idea, a concept.

EDMCast is a comminity run project – we need people to help, people like you!

What are we looking for?
– People to make mini-casts for the shows.
E.g. If you have a music speciality (House for example) you can make mini-casts showcasing the best in unreleased and unsigned house. – People to just talk!
E.g. if you aren’t bothered about playing music, how about hosting a talk show? You host a talk show using conventional telephone, skype – or get a few guests in the studio and talk about EDM with them for 30 mins. It’s your call. – Promote!
If you like EDMCast.com – we need your help to spread the word. On the forum there’s some EDMCast.com images you can use, or just direct people over to this site.

Even een oproepje voor de PF-producers: hebben jullie nog lekkere unsigned muziek liggen die ik kan spelen in mijn edmcast shows?


I see that most of our "resident" DJs here on EDMCast have the same problem: where can we find the cool unsigned music?

Even I wasn't able to produce a new show last week and this week... Biggest problem of course is my daytime job which eats too much time so that I don't have enough time to search for cool new unsigned music...

I only want to play the best trance tracks, not just average stuff, that's why I did not produce a new show last week and will not produce a new show this week (because I'm gone for the weekend...).. but next week I have some free time again so I'll try to search for some good tracks and make a new show again.... maybe I'll have some time to produce a new track of my own again... but we'll see....

So any trance/progressive or hardtrance producers who are reading this are welcome to send some of their stuff to me (and other edmcast DJs of course)... and if it's cool we will play it of course!....
