How do people judge hardcore in your country?

Fair or with prejudice?

In Holland, I think there are a lot of prejudices about hardcore.

They alway's ask:"do you also use drugs"
And the answer is simple

I think that Drugs is worse for your body then alcohol

BUT

Alcohol let you to even more strange things then that other shit.

In the UK Hardcore is Fair, there isn't much attitude, I guess thats the happy hardcore element, everyone just wants to have a good time.

Unfortunately in the UK people associate hardcore music with Scott Brown, SY, Vibes and all the cheesy happy hardore/trancore DJs - so there is a separete scene for hardcore techno.

The word gabber has a bad reputation over here, there was once an article in a national newspaper about how the music was associated with fascism, violence and drugs.

hm...i don't know...well,I didn't try any kind of drugs never in my life only because I'm not interested...for me is music enough for great fun etc. but also,for me personally...ppl who doing drugs aren't stupid or less smarter then I'm..I have great friends who doing drugs...or I reading a lot(story's) about ppl who have been narko junkies or still they have the same problem...and,they ALL r very interesting and smart

Well here nobody gives a cent. Hardcore is quite underground here which makes it very interesting. People think is weird music for crazy maniacs and "darkies" (darkies what??), specially because the few parties are almost speedcore oriented. So conclusion music for crazy people

i wish in France so much people hate Hardcore like in Holland

in France, hardcore party is underground, 90% of Hardcore party take place in the hood, with homeless, and a lot of dog (sorry but i REALLY dont like this free party!)

now you have more big party in East of France, with a good locations (i mean not in the hood), and some good DJ (like DJ Promo in february).
but this kind a people make a bad publicity to our music.
if you think in holland all hardcore fans use drug, you have to come at french free party, nobody is clean!
i dont judge people who use drug, but at french party, maybe 30% people come for the music, the other come for drugs and for them its just "tekno" they dont make difference hardcore, hardstyle etc.
i hope you understand what i want to say

...or d'n'b.... But something started to change, more and more ppl are discovering hardcore and interest themself about it. Also as a hard techno... Probably they r tired of this shitty scene.. I'm really tired of a city and a country where ppl look at me as a lunatic if I relax myself on a party, in the meaning if I make some tottally sick face when someone wants to picture me, or if I release myself in dancing.... I've seen Megarave and Hellraiser videos, if someone would make crazy faces or moves like that in here, in the moment ppl will stare at you saying in themself "wtf is he/she doing, what did he/she take?" etc... fuck that

But ontopic: As Marina said, ppl here dislike or don't know for hardcore, but that started to change. More and more ppl are discovering it and interest themself about it, which means they started accepting it. Phobos & mine plans are to bring it over here, when we will be ready to rock as a DJs

Becaus of this drugaddicts visiting the free partys it creates conflicts between the authority and the organizers: it's very difficult in the east to find a location in a town to orgonize a small hc party beause such partys are seen as party for drug users.
