Mental RG have initiated the release of Mini DVD's ie dvds which have been
re-encoded 9 passes/CCE at half D1 resolution giving fully DVD compatible
files which play on both your PC and the Domestic DVD Player without the
large file sizes normally associated with DVDrs.
Reasons for releasing such releases was to resolve the many issues that we
observe and note and relieving the downloader such problems as recoding
,codecs , 2 disk storage , no subs , no large file size to download etc
etc. Forget VCD , SVCD , DIVX , XVID , DVDr all each good formats but
each lacking certain functionability or having its downside.
What if we could release something that gives everyone something they
look in a download , a simple easy to burn to disk method as well as quality
video, High Quality Dolby 5.1 etc audio, subtitles, menus, chapters with
scene selections and in some instances even alternate audio tracks like Dir
Comments etc etc being available also.
It is exactly what is says , a fully functional DVDr release. We dont all have 60"
Plasma Screens ..... and in most instances for viewing higher bitrates of Video
is simply not necessarily required.
These releases have been optimised with the idea of storing 2 releases per
DVDr for archival purposes. Its can be very difficult for the novice to re author
such releases whilst keeping each release in its original format ie Motion Menus,
Subtitles etc etc the little extra gimmicks we love.
And certainly to burn 2.15 GB to a DVDr is a waste of storage.
This process is simplified and very easily done , by means of using a very good
program called DVD Remake Pro V2.6.4, DVD Remake Pro will merge 2 of our releases
keep all necessary items, and create a very simple menu from which either of
the stored releases can be selected when 2 are burned to disk.
