Paradiso

Paradiso is an iconic rock music venue and cultural center, located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

It is housed in a converted former church building and was squatted by hippies in 1967 who wanted to convert the church to an entertainment and leisure club, but the police ended the festivities the same year. Though a year later the city opened Paradiso as a publicly-subsidized youth entertainment center.

There exist a long, endless list of artists, who played or recorded and filmed their concerts at the Paradiso include such top acts like The Rolling Stones, Joy Division, The Cure, Nirvana, John Cale, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Amy Winehouse, Nine Inch Nails, Guns N' Roses, David Bowie, just to name a few.
