What's your musical history ? How did you first get into music?
John Sono is a Dutch house DJ, born in 1981, nearby Amsterdam. From my childhood, music has been a common thread in my life. At home it was never quiet, the radio was always on or LPs were playing, later CDs. When I started playing the piano from the age of 7, musicality really seemed to flow through my veins. After 7 years of lessons, I decided to start playing the drums as well. At the age of 18, I started working in a pub as a part-time job next to my studies. It soon became clear that playing music suited me well. For a few years, I was at the controls of various pubs and clubs.
Your next gig is at Love House? – what inspired you to join on this event?
I'm friends with the organizers of LoveHouse. With one of the guys, I've already shared the decks on several occasions — from house parties to sessions in the Amsterdam Most Wanted Studio. The LoveHouse concept really speaks to me in terms of music, crowd, setup, and atmosphere. That's why I'm truly grateful and honored that they've asked me to perform as a LoveHouse DJ during the next edition in November.

Energetic Melodic & Progressive House
What is the direction of your music? What is your audience age wise and vibe-wise?
Honestly, I don't believe my music is tied to any specific age or target group. In the end, music is the only language that's spoken, felt, and understood all over the world — without conflicts or opposites
With my music, I want to give people a wonderful night, make them dance, enjoy, and experience an amazing musical journey with a blend of irresistible rhythms and melodies. Just being in the moment, without thoughts of what has been or what's yet to come.You have been a DJ for how many years? Please tell the readers what to expect from this gig at Love House?
I began DJing at eighteen and quickly grew from local pubs and clubs into a solid presence in the house scene. Known for melodic and energetic progressive house, my sets blend refined rhythms with captivating melodies — earning me the title of Amsterdam's Most Wanted DJ. In 2025, I became resident DJ at Studio AMW on the NDSM wharf, hosting the weekly Reverb Radio livestream, and made my debut as an AMW DJ at the Amsterdam Dance Event.
At LoveHouse you can expect uplifting melodic house tracks and energetic progressive house, blending together in a dynamic, building set. And a DJ who's absolutely excited to be there!!
Aside from Love House, please tell us about your plans, upcoming events and DJ gigs.
My plan is to keep enjoying my biggest hobby. I'm a DJ alongside my regular job — a passion where I can put in a lot of energy and get even more back. It would be fantastic to have a regular night as a DJ at a beach club with an amazing sound system and the most relaxed vibe in the Netherlands.
