Biografie
·DJ, producer and founder of All Trap Music and Hot Damn; JiKay is a fearless artist and entrepreneur who's turned his passion for music and determination never to get a 'real job' into a successful career and two celebrated labels. JiKay's entrance into the industry has been an unorthodox one.
The Nottingham born artist grew up with a Dad who was a guitarist, spurring a young JiKay to start DJing and playing in bands from a very young age. At 19 he started his first club night at a bar in Nottingham. After hearing another DJ play a Flosstradamus track after him at a club, JiKay took a great interest in the genre. Taking to the internet to find out more he was surprised and frustrated that there was no one place online to hear the sound. Out of that dissatisfaction came All Trap Music – a Youtube channel (then later, label and live events brand) solely devoted to showcasing the best new Trap music.
After launching in July 2012 the channel grew rapidly, amassing millions of views due to popular tracks from Flosstradamus, Baauer, UZ, Hucci, Stooki Sound and more. This ran alongside the growing popularity of JiKay's own material that went on to gain him support from Earmilk, THUMP, Complex, Mistajam, Trap City, BBC Radio 1Xtra.
A pioneer of the sound, JiKay continued experimenting and established Hot Damn – a label devoted to releasing a wider range fresh new electronic music
JiKay's remix of Keys N Krates 'Dum Dee Dum' is one of his biggest tracks yet accumulating over 32 million plays on YouTube to date. Other notable remixes that have helped shape JiKay's career include Vaski 3AM that was support by THUMP and Earmilk and more recently his remix of Stooki Sound & Mr Carmack 'Uppers' which takes influence from Jersey Club.
As his discography and popularity grew, so did his touring schedule both in the UK and Europe jumping on a plane almost every weekend for shows in France, Germany, Austria, Croatia and beyond. As his notoriety continues to rise through his own music and his labels JiKay recognises the importance of continuing to feed his fan base new exciting content.
With that comes JiKay's new single 'Take Me', written alongside longtime friend and label signee MNKN with vocals from Leeds based singer-songwriter Gaby Henshaw. The sees JiKay and MNKN experimenting with their sound and the addition of Gaby's catchy vocals keeps you hitting replay. With a video scheduled for the single featuring world famous dancer and model Dytto, this is set to be JiKay's biggest release yet.
