Biografie
Cosmopolitan funkster originally from Prague, currently residing in Amsterdam, musically always mindconnected with London. Denoir is a strong believer in the magic of rhythm and funk, adores 90s way of sampling, raw production, originality, pirate radio and dubplates. His dj sets provide high levels of UK energy, intensity and a never-ending stream of dirty basslines contrasting with soulful vocals.
Denoir has always been obsessed with music, even more so since the age of 14, when he first started experimenting with music production in Fruity Loops. It wasn't long before he got his own pair of turntables and started collecting vinyl - mostly d'n'b to start with, followed by uk garage, dubstep, grime and uk funky.
Nowadays he is fully committed to cdjing under two different monikers - as 'Denoir' he spins bass driven music around 130 - 140 bpm, while 'Daniel Noir' is his alter-ego for dark deeptech/acid/bass house music.
He has performed alongside top international djs such as Marcus Nasty, DJ EZ, Preditah, Flava D, Pinch, Mike Delinquent, Scrufizzer, Rashad & Spinn, Sunship, Funkystepz or Jack N Danny, having played club b2b sets with the likes of Champion, DJ Q, Bassboy or Hugo Massien. Besides the Czech Republic, Denoir has djed in various cities in the Netherlands, New York or Bratislava. He's done sets at Amsterdam's Most Wanted radio, Czech Radio 1, as well as on the London pirate radio circuit. Following a production hiatus, he's currently working on both house and bass music with his partner in crime Dryman, also collaborating with the likes of MC Scrufizzer, Deadbeat UK, Spookz & Spekktrum, RS4/Oris Jay or Shenin Amara & AR. Along with DJ BLQ he has recently launched a project named Groove Solitude, focusing on soulful/funk'dup/90s style of uk garage.
