Biografie
DJ Java (Roy Verschoor) was born in Haarlem. His love for music came early, growing up listening to a mix of Soul, Funk and Jazz at home.
Aged 15, he started to get into DJ-ing and he came up with his name, Java, inspired by the island where his mother was born. Java started out playing Hip-Hop, Soul & R&B but slowly transitioned to playing also more electronic music. This has made him a DJ with a very broad range.
Java began playing the sax at a very young age and he still believes that it's the most sexiest instrument known to man. At the age of 16 he evolved further, from just playing the music, to actually creating it as well. He taught himself how to play the piano and the guitar and found a new passion in life: producing. This really gives him the opportunity to express all his musicality.
He started his own successful party called New Jack Sunday in 2010 in the Motown Music Café. Played on several festivals like Solar and Stereo Sunday. Now he's resident dj in the well known club the Jimmy Woo in Amsterdam.
