Biografie
Their family name isn't the only thing these 2 brothers have in common. An intense and deep-rooted family connection, a strong sense of solidarity and an intense musical passion constitute but a few of their distinguishing shared attributes. Tenzers represent a wide and sophisticated range of music, which they've been collecting over the years. Their diverse and versatile sound is deeply rooted in techno and house coming from both Detroit and Chicago, but branches further out into electro, IDM, disco, jazz, afro and anything else that catches their fancy while digging for eclectic and exotic records. Their open-minded approach to mixing enables them to blend all this musical diversity into a refined genre-crossing fusion.
Their father played an important role in their musical development. From early on the brothers where introduced to the music he had carefully collected over the years. Influenced and fascinated by this varied collection they started searching for their own taste.
Around this time they also learned how to mix records, and it was not long before they also started collecting records themselves. From that moment on they became an inseparable team. They invested in some decks and audio gear, and started sharing and combining all their knowledge, experience and inspiration. They even started producing electronic music of their own, and quickly this swiftly became second nature to them. Many mixes later the boys had the honor of making their debut at the beloved, local pop-temple: LVC.
The former girl-school, located in Leiden, had already survived 45 years of music, art and subculture by the time that Tenzers hit their stage, but LVC rapidly became a special venue to them; a place where they met a plethora of new likeminded people, picked up a whole lot more about music, gained experience, and even started organizing their own events together with their older brother Rens and good friend Dilen. The event organization goes by the name of 'Buitengewoon', as it started as a extravaganza party. After a few years they even had the singular honor of giving the last weekender at this beautiful raw building. As LVC was closed in 2013, they felt a need to explore beyond Leiden, and made their move.
Nowadays the three brothers are living together their own home, with a home studio, in Amsterdam. The driven duo is currently doing well; they played some impressive sets at Studio 80, Trouw, Pip, Radion, Cruquiusgilde, Closure, Zeezout, Cartel, etc and they're also taking Buitengewoon to a new level as they organise successful events in their hometown Leiden, Amsterdam and The Hague. Apart from DJ'ing and organising they're carefully planning out their first few releases.
