Biografie
Katya Gabeli is an Amsterdam-based violinist, DJ and producer.
A Conservatory graduate and a University of the Arts Bachelor, Katya also has an 8 year career as a radio DJ and presenter under her belt. Working in an extensive range of genres spanning from Classical to electronic music during that period has led to her becoming a true musical omnivore.
Applying the skills of a classically trained violinist, she integrates live electric violin improvisation into her DJ sets and blends violin in seamlessly when playing alongside others, whether it be House, Techno, Drum and Bass or Dubstep. Her utter versatility and music knowledge make her a sought-after studio musician and collaborator.
Alongside touring in and outside Europe she plays everything from small underground clubs to big festivals like Extrema Outdoor on her native soil.
Katya has released on labels such as Mantra Music UK, Chord Marauders, Mindstep Music, Acker Records, Doppelgaenger, Budenzauber and Tretmuehle.
