Costar

As a young saxophone player, Costar spend a lot of his time near the stereo system, playing along with his father's old jazz records. At one point he changed the jazz records for club compilations. At the age of eighteen he went looking for dj's in the Amsterdam club scene, that would take the challenge of playing their sets with live saxophone.

The legendary Club Roxy in Amsterdam, that burnt down during the funeral of one of the founders, was the place where Costar met dj Joost van Bellen. It was there that Costar had his first saxophone/dj-experience on the garage sounds of Van Bellen. Costars playing caught the attention of some influential people in the Dutch dance scene and six months later he was performing in front of a huge crowd at the main stage of Dancevalley.

In the meantime other dj's also became enthusiastic about this new mix of live music and records. Within a short period of time Costar performed with dj's such as Roog, Laidback Luke, Erick E, Ron Caroll, Fedde Le Grand, Axwell (Swedish House Mafia), Gregor Salto, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Kevin Saunderson, dj Jean and many more.

With gigs in the UK, Germany, France, Scandinavia, Russia, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Curaçao and Ibiza, Costars fame is rising abroad.

In the summer of 2009 Costar was the closing act on the mainstage of Mysteryland, one of the biggest dance festivals in Holland. He's also resident in the popular club Escape in Amsterdam and often seen on Hed Kandi events all over the world.
