Daniel Williamsen

Daniel Williamsen, also known as Daniël van den Berg, is a 24 year old producer and DJ from Arnhem, the Netherlands. What started out as a hobby, has now turned into a 6 year carreer with some beautiful highlights. Almost all DJ's start out with beatmatching in the attic, buying loads of records and creating a feel for which records to synthesize. Eventually, if the will is there, you start playing records for friends at small parties. An artist is born: Daniel Williamsen landed his first gig way back in 2009. Having gained some experience, Daniel was ready to take the next step: he entered the Kunstbende competition. This competition has been created by the Kunstbende institute to support and guide young artists under the age of 18. Daniel did a stunning set and ended 4th in the overall national competition.

Receiving recognition after the contest, he got a residency at Club Purple and had some airtime on radiostations like Club V (Veronica), GetMixed.FM and Deep.FM. Daniel searched for his own main sound and explored his own musical boundries what led him to several festivals in 2011: Extrema Outdoor , Festivaart and Free Your Mind . He also started playing in more clubs all over the country.

After three years of playing and exploring to define his own sound, he started playing at three new residencies in 2012: de Maria at Utrecht, Havana at Tilburg and Roses at Arnhem. These places stand for the ultimate lounge experience and amazing ambiances which lend themselves perfectly for the deep/loungy- and soulful sets of Daniel. You can still find Daniel playing in the Roses these days.

In the years that followed Daniel started working more on developping his main sound. Not only getting behind the decks but also working on his producerskills in the studio. His first release with Steff Jaspers landed on Consistent Records and got support from a variety of DJ's. He started to blend his own tracks with his selection of favourite artists and put a lot of effort and energy in making it so. Daniels main sound is the warmer and groovier soulful/deephouse sound at the beginning of the night. It later starts to develop into a more bass and housy driving beat with influences from the Chicago house sound and UK bass and garage.

The future is looking bright for this young talent. Daniel is known for the vibe and energy behind the decks while performing. He describes the connection between him and the crowd as one. 'There needs to be a solidconnection between the audience and the DJ. Like a harmony, like a feeling. When that connection is there and in sync, the
magic follows. Something you need to experience to understand it."
