Biografie
·John Stigter, born in 1981, has always been interested in music and sound. As a kid he liked to play with his grandfather's tape recorders (which had pitch control!) and from 1992 until 1998 he played the organ. John's love for electronic dance music commenced in the early 90's when bands like Scooter were leading the international pop charts. Later on he became more interested in hardcore music. Around 1999 John bought the cd-single "William Orbit - Barber's Adagio For Strings" featuring the Ferry Corsten remix. This way he discovered a new music style he immediately fell in love with: trance. Today he still loves this genre in all its forms, but he's also found a new love in progressive and electro house.
While in college, John started creating music and experimented with mixing different tracks together, all using basic software at that time. Having switched to more professional software, 2006 highlighted the release of his track "Lost Angeles – In Motion". The record was in high demand and played by top DJs such as Rank-1, Cosmic Gate, Yves Deruyter, Marco V, Mark Norman, Les Hemstock and John 00 Fleming. As a result, it reached a high chart position in the Dutch Dance Charts.
Nowadays, John has released several tracks which have been supported by DJ's like Suzy Solar, Alex M.O.R.P.H., DJ Choose, Jose Amnesia, Robert Gitelman, Talla2XLC, Adam White, Darren Tate, Pedro Del Mar, Robert Vadney and many more. Apart from producing his own tracks, John also likes to create mashups combining different tracks, acapella's, etc. Recently, one of his mashups has been played by the legendary Judge Jules on BBC1 Radio. John started DJ'ing in 2008 and has used his "Lost Angeles Sessions" and "Digital Revolution" mixes as a platform to share his passion for music with the world. Recently he's started a new show called 'Checkpoint'.
John holds a bachelor's degree in Digital Communication and succesfully completed the Sound Education course. Always improving his skills and broadening his taste in music, he is currently enrolled in the Pyntago Producers Academy. Spending a lot of time in his studio creating, combining, mixing and producing music, more highlights will surely follow in John's world of electronic music. Stay tuned!
