Biografie
·DJ KOZZ' interest in music goes back a lot further than the the rise of electronic dance-music. Mainly Pop, New Wave, EBM, Hard Rock & Trash Metal coloured his youth. Until the arrival of electronic dance-music in the early nineties.. In those early days he really got overwhelmed by the New Beat & Acid-House sounds from the legendary Boccaccio club in Ghent, his hometown.
Few years later he started to concentrate on dj-ing himself and on one of the first parties he played, he met Mathias Kerckhof. A common passion for non-commercial dance-music made them decide to start organise parties themselves and KOZZMOZZ was born!
A lot of international artists such as Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Dave Angel, Kenny Larkin, Funk D'Void, Secret Cinema, Green Velvet, Heiko Laux, Adam Beyer, Johannes Heil, Anthony Rother, The Advent, Damon Wild, Daz Saund, Trevor Rockcliffe, Speedy J, Space Dj'z, Surgeon, etc ... played at the event and as resident dj, KOZZ played next to all of these big names and received lots of positive reactions from the masters themselves.
He played at various smaller events but also played at all the big clubs and festivals in Belgium and abroad (Fuse, Cherrymoon, Café d'Anvers, Dour festival, Axxion Beach, House Torhout, City Parade, Love Parade Berlin, Nature One, Rex Club Paris, The End London, Pinkpop Festival Holland, Ibiza, Croatia, etc ....
Even though DJ KOZZ is best known as a very energetic techno-dj, his musical taste is still as divers as it ever was. He plays Acid in all it's aspects and styles (Acid-House, Acid-Techno, Psychedelic Acid, ...) and also plays Electro, under his alter ego 'A NEW TYPE OF GOD'.
He also has his own radioshow 'AREA 52' on URgent 105.3FM (Every Sunday from 23h-00h), where he selects and mixes the finest electronic Ambient & Chill-Out music!
DJ KOZZ' techno-sets are the most memorable. From minimal over hard and funky, but always qualitative and never affraid to challenge the public (and himself). Over the years he has acquired a lot of fans and he knows - as no other - how to drive a dancefloor to exstatic heights.
