Biografie
Born in Marseille, LAZE emerges as a versatile artist, shaping her musical journey since her youth amid the bustling nightlife of Marseille, swiftly diving into electronic music. She crafts a unique sonic identity by blending rave, breakbeat, and occasionally more delicate sounds.
Rejecting stylistic boundaries, LAZE explores a myriad of genres, creating a boundless musical experience she aptly calls "multivibe." Her passion for fantastical and enchanting realms, coupled with a strong influence from Japanese culture, adds a distinctive dimension to her musical and visual universe. Through dynamic productions and sets, she takes listeners on a sonic journey where dreamy, vibrant, energetic, sometimes bass-heavy, and digital tones harmoniously intersect.
Incarnating a mysterious artist, LAZE boldly ventures into the frontiers of electronic music, offering an immersive experience where diversity reigns at the core of her universe.
In the EP "Sotai," LAZE invites us into a complex and brilliant realm through four original tracks and two remixes. The musical odyssey begins with "Abyss," a piece with Liquid DnB vibes and hyperpop influences, featuring airy drums and enchanting pads. "Abyss" is a powerful and intense track that sets the tone for the journey.
Following are two techno tracks, "Yukko," ethereal and light, and "Rashomon," darker and more enchanting, forming the heart of the EP. Lastly, the magical "Maho," a light-as-air liquid drum and bass piece, begs to be listened to repeatedly.
Throughout the EP, there's a meticulous focus on vocals, pads, and sonic textures. The title, "Sotai," translated from Japanese as "in relation" or "relative," symbolizes the contrast and balance between the two sides, techno and drum and bass.
In addition to the original tracks, the EP introduces a unique dimension with two remixes, one by the talented Canadian Zorza and the other by the genius from Marseille, Noge. These remixes bring a new layer and a different experience, complementing and expanding the universe of "Sotai."
