Biografie
With TIM THAL, the young German-Korean DJ is launching his second DJ moniker, fully dedicated to underground music. Being a pianist from the age of 6, and playing the cello from the age of 13, he attended an elite music boarding school near Frankfurt. After studying classical music and music theory down to its deepest roots, he also attended master classes in Germany and the United Kingdom. He started gaining attention after performing classical concerts in Finland, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, winning several prizes.
His interest for electronic music was sparked by early visits to Germany's renowned clubs & festivals, such as the legendary "Love Parade" & "Winterworld". This combination of his deep background in classical music and passion for electronic music gives him a unique perspective on musical trends and developments, allowing him a fresh approach to electronic music.
TIM THAL has been active as an international touring DJ since 2013, playing in over 10 different countries and performing regularly at renowned festivals such as "Global Gathering", "Ultra Music Festival" & "World Club Dome". Establishing himself as a fixture in Korea's electronic music scene, he played alongside artists such as Sven Väth, Loco Dice, Alan Fitzpatrick, Ben Sims, Mark Knight and Christian Smith.
Alongside his career in Korea's TV & entertainment scene, and his experience as record selector for high-fashion brands such as "Chanel", "Cartier", "Salvatore Ferragamo" & "MCM", he also took on the role as music director for Seoul Dragon City, a 9-star hotel complex in the heart of Seoul, where he strives to push Korea's underground scene even further.
With his recent track release on Luxembourg label LAUTER UNFUG and a busy touring schedule for 2019, TIM THAL continues to expand and build on his success in electronic music.
