He was born in the middle of some country side village in Belgium. Maxim Defrancq aka Kastaar launched immediately into a (vocal) music career under 30 minutes after birth.
Starting with a cheap commercial radio mindset as every teenager, he started finetuning in his 20'er years when he moved to study in Antwerp, Belgium. He got himself a Pioneer dj set at home and started experimenting. Becoming a big enthusiast of funky disco, techhouse and melodic techno tunes. And ooh... a huge weakness for karaoke!
Since he really kicked off in 2018 he's been a resident in several venues in Amsterdam: MOMO, Izakaya, The Butcher, Mr Porter ( W Hotel ). Further he played several venues inside and out of Belgium with a highlight in summer July 2018 playing the legendary 'Summer of Soks' at the Destino Pacha Resort in Ibiza.
Now 2019 he wants to keep on expanding his focus on creating a musical legacy, making connections between raw oldschool disco beats and melodic tech- & deephouse. A real symbiosis between the oldschool sound and new atmospheric beats.
