Luz

DJ and promoter, Luz is the co-founder of Room 4 Resistance - a berlin-based queer femme and non-binary forward collective focused on community-building and creating safer space & visibility for underrepresented artists in dance music. R4R runs parties at ://about blank, curates panels and workshops to promote women, gender queers, non-binaries, trans, black and POC artists - to explore the political dimensions of the dance floor, and to create bridges between different communities.

In addition to their training as a film director, Luz have been involved in the electronic music scene for over a decade, first as a promoter in their native Belgium and later working for different labels and booking agencies in Berlin where they are now based.

Luz has collected records across genres since childhood and started Dj-ing in 2012. In their sets, Luz put a focus on building narratives through sound at the intersection of house, techno, electro, bass, left field, experimental and other genres in between. Since then, Luz has performed at countless international venues, highlights of which are ://about-blank, Panorama Bar and Tresor (Berlin), Golden Pudel (Hamburg), Et Andet Sted (Copenhagen), Industry Brunch (Detroit), Beursschouwburg (Brussels), La Machine du Moulin Rouge & La Rotonde (Paris).

Luz also hosts a monthly Room 4 Resistance radio show on Lisbon-based Ràdio Quântica alongside Doc Sleep.
