Frequenting the dance floors that evoke some of the best memories for many people; Crobar, Exit, Avalon, Spirit, etc. The sounds of some select DJs kept NYC dancing well after the sun came up and then some, that's where I had the spark that set off the fire; my love for electronic music.
The next step for me, naturally, was to buy my own DJ equipment. In 2006, my tribal-tinged beginning consisted of DJing for a close group of friends who very quickly turned into fans. In 2008, I landed my first gig at a local club. Soon after, it became what I enjoy most in life. Getting to work with the most recognized promoters in the area allowed me to play at some of the top clubs in NYC with major names such as Loco Dice, Steve Lawler, Luciano, Stacey Pullen, just to name a few. I used these opportunities as a learning experience to develop & expand my growth as a DJ.
From igniting headlining sessions to properly opening up the night, from deep house to techno, versatility is my strongest virtue. My willing of doing so far surpass what I ever thought I was capable of. From the moment I begin flipping through the pages of my CD book, the only thing on my mind is keeping the party goers grooving and dancing from the opening to the closing track.
The best is yet to come as I am working on several original productions that will have your feet begging for more. It truly is the focus, drive, dedication, and devout adoration for this music that got "Simon M" to this point in my life. Trust and believe!
