Move forward
I’m moving forward, both of my eyes are aimed directly in the future. In orderly advance people have to get their eyes set to the future and stop thinking about the past.
I don’t look back, I don’t see what you gain by blobbing on the past and bitching about things you can’t change. I know first hand a price you pay for telling the truth, a system can come down on you hard and you have to be prepared for it. People who are uncomfortable with to much truth.
Despite the frustration and anger I’ve met in my music, I have a great deal of hope for the future. When I meet with kids around the country, they all give me reasons to be optimistic.
For now I make records, that’s my job. And in those records I brought parallels to the different degrees of anger people feel on the streets. I will continue to do so as long as I’m able and until I feel there is a better way.
It’s up to you to change the system more than me. You decide what the problem is, you wanna address. And you make them your mission. Everybody should have a mission that is fueled by the experiences in their own hearts. If we all told the truth and communicated with each other, we’d have something to work with.
