DJ BOB SQUAT
DJ Bob Squat started playing as a DJ in 1989.
Since he changed his hometown Best, in the south of Holland, for Holland’s capitol Amsterdam, he got inspired by the music and fresh clubscene of the city. At a young age already, he found himself playing dancemusic in clubs at the Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, in the centre of town.
When housemusic was born in Amsterdam, and the warehouse parties and undergroundscene became a fact, he developed himself and his music
along with the hype.
While playing at several Amsterdam underground parties like the Silo Warehouse,
he organized his own first underground event called Final Solution.
Also in the east of Amsterdam under the Schellingwoudebrug; in the west of Amsterdam at Sloterdijk and at the Bricorama, he created a few large events.
Soon after that he also got involved in the organisation of Legalize.
The annual Street Rave of Amsterdam.
Because his knowledge on underground locations in Amsterdam has build up over the years, his coaching has been wanted and well appreciated on several occasions as for several organisations and DJ’s.
Therefore he organised and or played together with artists like Steve Rachmad, Micha B aka Chris Cortez, Miss Wendy, Dimi Angelis, Alex Motu, Joel Mull, Carlos Valdez, Lady Lago, Pavo and more….. Also organisations like Zwets have gained, by merging with Bob Squat for some of their events.
DJ Bob Squat is one of the three founders that started the Amsterdam Dance Radio show in April 2009. Together with DJ’s Miss Wendy and Alex Motu they run and present their own weekly radio show with the sounds of the latest clubhouse, tribal, trance, techhouse, electro, techno and classics. DJ’s, producers, artists, label owners, entertainers, dancefashion promotors or other guests from the dancescene are always invited for the second hour for interviews and or a live set or act.
Since the beginning of October 2009, the Amsterdam Dance Radio show has
changed their radio format into a dance and lifestyle television format.
With this TV show – Amsterdam Dance and Lifestyle Television - and their own production company, the crew are now proud creators of the one and only, first ever, original Dance and Lifestyle TV of Amsterdam and around. It’s also the only Amsterdam Dance Television show that’s also broadcasting live on the radio, as well as on the internet.
DJ Bob Squat is also working on his first productions.
