Wayland & Falko on Sax

Wayland & Falko on Sax are two Dutch friends. Both always had an obsession with music, in many genres and started out as musicians in a cover band. Jarno Wieland (Wayland) played synthesizer and drums and Falko (Falko on Sax) played the Saxophone. In 2012 they shared the passion for House Music into a unique fixed combination; DJ with Live Saxophone.

Keen on enriching the music industry with their particular touch of combining a live Sax with different musical genres and productions, Wayland & Falko on Sax have become known for their unique combination of percussive, groovy and melodic elements with an energetic performance.

"It's not easy to describe our sound. This is because we play the newest sounds in a large spectrum of the house genre, as long as it fits into one set. We have a big focus on groove, melodies and percussion combined with the Funky Sax elements throughout our sets and productions. So if we had to try to put it into a genre, it's groovy, melodic House/Latin/Tech-house with lots of vibe!"

"This first year was fantastic. We played at e.g. Sunday People Festival (Watergoed), Future City Sounds (Arnhem), Pleasure Lounge Festival , Q-day festival Den Bosch and several private parties and clubs in Arnhem, Nijmegen, Den Bosch, Riga (Letland) and Westendorf (Austria)."

Wayland
Wayland (Jarno Wieland) was born near Arnhem and has always been addicted to house music. He started dreaming about producing and spinning records since his younger years. Influenced by big names in the industry like Franky Rizardo, Roul and Doors, Gregor Salto, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano he knows each element of what brings the best sound in the right perspective. Wayland is taking care of selecting new music, making productions/mash-ups/sets and taking care of the marketing.

Falko on Sax
Falko (Vieth) was born near Arnhem. He began his musical career at a very young age at the local harmony. Here he learned to play the saxophone. In time different projects at the conservatory developed his technique and improvisational skills into an all-round saxophonist. Through various bands (where Wayland played synthesizer and drums) he discovered playing pop- and eventually house music. Falko is taking care of inquiries and bookings – besides preparing performances from a 'sax point of view'.
