Biografie
·In the last year DJ Duo No Artificial Colours have lived up to the hype and proven themselves to be the one of the most exciting talents within the UK's house music scene.
With their music consistently riding high in the Beatport charts they have been receiving love, not just from the dancefloor, but also from their peers and the industry alike. Never one to follow the crowd, No Artificial Colours have chosen an interesting mixture of UK and international labels to release their music on. Such prominent productions have gained the duo attention from all the major heavyweights in the scene and acclaim from top outlets such as Clash magazine, I-D mag, Beatport, Mixmag, et al
No Artificial Colours are Ryan Ellis and Lewis Wright, two friends hailing from South East London; the boys met when they kept finding themselves booked at the same gigs, and when they often got asked by promoters if they could play back-to-back, the pairing made perfect sense.
Since meeting every day has been about music for them, playing it, searching it out and making it. Their sound is evolving all the time with their sets becoming more about their own music than other peoples and often favouring a deep underlying, hypnotic vibe with various acapellas, loops and tricks to keep things exciting.
Their first EP only dropped in late spring 2011 and since then they have continued to rise at an astonishing rate, having played numerous of the top clubs in the UK such as Fabric, Corsica Studios, and Cable, as well as the premier clubs across Europe and the USA, as well as notable festival appearances such as Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and WMC to name but a few.
2012 has seen the duo continue their fine production form with releases on Akbal Records, Nurvous Records, petFood and Sleazy Deep, as well as the recent and highly lauded Jack and the Beans EP alongside Max Chapman on Resonance Records.
With even more big plans in the pipeline for 2013, keep your eye firmly on No Artificial Colours.
