I will travel to The Netherlands next month with my own car, just for visit and enjoy the southern part of the country, it means anywhere to the south of the big rivers.

I hope anyone could give me some advices about the best places to see there. I've heard some very good things about Vlissingen and its beaches.

P.D. I will also travel along Belgium and France, just Normandy, Omaha Beach, Mont Saint Michel, etc...

:)
Its Holland, compared to Spain you'll probably think you're still south when you hit Friesland.

Maastricht, that church.
There is also the three country point there, which connect Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg

what about the Biggest funfair in Benelux (Tilburgse Kermis) from July 20 to 29.

Thats in the south of Holland
What about Dutch police in roads?
Do Dutch police stop and check frequently any foreign car even if they drive well?

Don't rip me off! 8) Groningen is located in far north!
However, I hope I will be able to try Northern Netherlands in the future. ;)

Yeah, as long as you adjust your driving to the signs next to the road (go 100 where the sign 100 flies by, etc) then you should be fine. Dutch officers are very friendly, as long as you are, is my experience.

Srsly, you don't want to see anything in southern Holland.
You can go to northern Holland, where most things are way better (Y)
I forgot to tell you that I have already been in Amsterdam in August 2009.
It was a very great place to stay, but I think the best way to fully appreciate any country and its people, is simply to take a relaxing stroll along the villages and small cities. :)
What is the common Dutch law on street parking?
Must I pay for most of them, even in small villages?

Limburg: Maastricht, Valkenburg, Margraten (Military cemetery), Heerlen/Brunssum/Landgraaf - Brunssummerheide
Brabant: 's Hertogenbosch, Willemstad, Breda
Zeeland: Renesse, Haringvlietdam, (Expo Haringvliet), Walcheren
Omaha Beach is rad, but check out a town which is close, Port En Bessin, on the overlook to the town there are bunkers and 2 KM of original trenches you can check out/walk in. It is lesser known, so not many tourists, but Canadian Commandos had a huge fight to capture it on 7th June.
why do you janks always put the smiley backwards.

thats sucks dude

yeah watch out for the signs. Most places is paid parking. To be safe pak in a underground parkinglot. It's not expensive in Limburg or Zeeland.

I believe fantasy dance FM or something (german radio, but you can receive it in Limburg) plays this kind of music sometimes.

You must visit Merkelbeek, little village just for relaxing b)

Nevermind. As I said before, I just want to know rural areas, cause I think it's the better way to know any country.
However, I believe everything wouldn't be farmers in the south. There are some cities, like Middelburg, Vlissingen, Breda or Eindhoven. (y)
Anyway, I can't wait! :D

Maastricht (y)
There just one word to describe it: Awesome!

:D (H)

I will write a tale of it, also pictures will go up as soon as possible. ;)
That's my story of my trip:

- Wednesday, 17th August. It started early enough with lights still on. Weather was very warm in northern Spain and southern France, so I made rest frequently to cold drinks. I drove through Paris at midnight, just to avoid traffic jams, then I slept 100 km away north to Paris.

-Thursday, 18th August. I drove through northern France, then I went to eat something in Kortrijk, Belgium.
My first place in The Netherlands was the windmill of Biervliet, near Terneuzen, then I went to Middelburg to sleep.

-Friday, 19th August. I was walking around Middelburg all day long, and it was nice. I really enjoyed the drawbridges located near the train station of the city. (y)

-Saturday, 20th August. I went into a car park in Vebenabos, west to Vlissingen, then I was walking 3 km from to Vlissingen through those long beaches, then back to the car park.
My second place of the day was the windmill of Roosendaal, which is available for visit inside. It was really awesome.
Then I drove to Zundert, south of Breda, I saw the windmill, which it’s also available to visit, but I can’t see the owner of it.
Finally I went to Tilburg just for experience DB Loud Afterparty at Eqlipse. :bounce:

-Sunday, 21st August. I went to Eindhoven, I parked my car near a train station, then walking around there. I saw many things, included the Philips Stadium, also the center area.
When evening came, I went to Dancetour at Tilburg. 8)

-Monday, 22nd August. I drove to Brugge, it is really a very nice city, then I tried Belgian coast, but the weather was really bad, so I decided to go to Eurotunel, near Calais, and I took some pictures of the trains.

-Tuesday, 23th August. I drove to Dieppe, in Normandy, cause there are a beautiful stone beach, also some impressive clifs. In the evening I went to D-Day beaches.

-Wednesday, 24st August. I spent the morning in Mont Sain Michel, it's a very nice place to stay, then I went to Saint Malo, another very nice place to be.

Thursday, 25st August. I was driving all day long through France and northern Spain in a relaxed way, takíng some breaks in the frequently rest areas.

Friday, 26th August, my trip finally ended at home. :(

P.D. I made this trip alone. :P
