Biografie
Polder, true as ever to their namesake, are back to reclaim their territory. Through a seamless and natural re-emergence, David Labeij and Lauhaus are set to take Polder to new heights, whilst maintaining its signature sound: High quality tracks. - the jagged edges smoothly sanded to leave out the unnecessary - with an air of friendly sophistication and widespread appeal. This quintessentially-dutch duo once again bring all the elements of dutch design and its practical attitude, combined with intuition and innovation that translate to the minimal, up-beat infamous groove that Polder fans know and love.
Since 2011, David Labeij and Lauhaus have both been hitting the solo circuit, expanding their stage presence and collaborating with other artists. Labeij's 2012 collaboration with Julien Chaptal saw the creation of MFD, a vinyl only label with back to back live sets; whilst Lauhaus, apart from his activities as a veteran dj/producer, has been running two labels (Soweso and We Dig. Music) with longtime friend Kabale und Liebe.
Polder's own stage presence has exploded with live gigs at Awakenings, Lowlands, Fabric (London), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Fabrik (Madrid), Privilege and Space (Ibiza), just to name a few. But despite their separate activities, their studio time has remained shared and closely intertwined: The re-emergence of Polder has simply been a natural progression in the course of their careers.
With previous releases on several renowned labels (100% Pure, Circus Company, Fear of Flying, Sushitech, Remote Area and most recently, Intacto Records), Polder have not only been a favourite amongst their dutch cohorts but from the very start have struck a smashing cord with the international crowd. With David Labeij bringing the deeper, dubbier side of house and techno and Lauhaus's intuitive dance crowd know-how, these two unfailingly mix up a tasty dish that's stripped to the bone on the dance floor.
In a fickle world that's ever-changing, the journey continues but Polder keeps its integrity and remains true to the sound.
