In a few weeks we hope to be able to
release the ERV6. This project has been a real pain in the ass for
all parties involved in making it. The whole production process has
already taken over six months. All combined ‘tales’ helped
us to shape a more complete image of what really happened several
thousand years ago. (Or did it happen in the future?) In total seven
new messages were extracted from the original raw data in the
transmission; making the total number of war stories eight. In the
end we had more material than we originally intended to release, but
we felt all messages were important enough to be heard by the rest
of the world so this means that we will be releasing ERV6 as a
double album to include all the tales we’ve decrypted. This
release is very raw in nature, which means there isn’t a single
happy track or ‘hit’ version to be found anywhere on the record.
Actually, we think that a lot of people will not even like the
record at all as it is an in-depth exploration of a dark, grim tale.
It took a lot of dedication and time to get this project
done. We trust that the usual people out there will no doubt be
standing by to start whining about postponed release dates, the form
of the project, the sleeves, the cut, us, their lives and everything
else marginally related to this release. These haters can rest
assured that everyone involved in this project feels very strongly
about this special project and the messages contained therein; and
relevance to us. The project will come in the form of a
special limited edition package, combining a 12” and 10” record.
They will be sealed together for collectors who wish to keep these
records pristine. Like all VIP releases the records will be pressed
on white vinyl. Only the 10” will feature artwork; the 12” remains
true to the original VIP style (black cover, no artwork).
