DEGO
It is hard to express how excited we are to have living legend Dego as our guest on the Weekender’s Friday.
After absorbing a lifetime’s worth of soul, reggae and hip-hop growing up in North-West London, the veteran composer of electronic music alway injected London’s burgeoning underground music scene with new ideas, resulting in a variety of groundbreaking music styles and grooves. A little introduction to Dego’s legacy here: http://rushhourmusic.com/
VOLCOV
Producing under the Isoul8 and Volcov names for labels like Sonar Kollektiv, Still Music and Rush Hour, he remixed artists like Jazztronik, Frankie Valentine, Azymuth, Taylor McFerrin, Paul Randolph, Tokyo Black Star. He released the concept modern fusion album Rima ‘This World’ for Jazzanova Compost together with Domu in 2003, which featured a large arrange of diverse contributors such as Marc De Clive Lowe and Julie Dexter and the incredible artwork from Dutch master Delta Inc.
Passionate music digger known for his impeccable taste in soul, funk, disco and deep house music, Volcov is also the founder of more than one record label. In fact in 1998 he co-founded Archive records with the Dipiù company, where he explored the futuristic and more electronic side of the so called broken beat sound, still keeping it quite eclectic and futuristic. For the label he signed artists like Dego, Theo Parrish, Phil Asher, Domu, Nubian Mindz, Modaji, various Bugz members, Nu Era, King Britt and many others.
He also started his own production company and label Neroli in 2000 and there he focused on more tracky material and released tracks from artists as Just One, Chateau Flight, the Attias brothers, Ricardo Miranda, Domu, Dego and more. The Neroli label still going strong! With recent releases by the likes of Stasis, Dego & 2000 Black Friends and more...
