Begin december vorig jaar maakten Libema en UDC bekend dat eind mei AREA51 plaats zou vinden op het terrein van Autotron Rosmalen en vakantiepark Dierenbos. Men hoopte op 15.000 techno-liefhebbers die een ticket zouden aanschaffen. Helaas bleek dit een te enthousiaste wens.... 19
Area51: nieuw meerdaags technofestival

Zojuist maken Libema en UDC bekend dat op 27, 28 en 29 mei 2016 AREA51 plaats zal vinden op het terrein van Autotron Rosmalen en vakantiepark Dierenbos. Het terrein van het legendarische Autotron, voorheen een automuseum met attractiepark, zal voor de gelegenheid omgetoverd worden in een partyzone dat plaats biedt aan liefst 15.000 techno liefhebbers. 6

Regrettably we had to make the decision to cancel Area 51 Festival, which was to take place on May 27/28/29 at Autotron Rosmalen.
With this innovative new weekender we wanted to give you an unforgettable time with a varied line-up. Unfortunately ticket sales were not picking up the way they should in order to organize such an event.
We have a standard level of production which we now can’t maintain. We don’t feel comfortable cutting it down. We no longer feel that it’s wise to proceed as the prognosis shows that the outcome won’t be positive. We’re absolutely heartbroken as we were looking forward to this new adventure with all of you.
Everyone who bought a ticket received an e-mail.
We sincerely apologize for the above.

Met dit vernieuwende meerdaagse concept wilde Area51 de bezoekers een onvergetelijk techno weekender inclusief brede en gevarieerde line-up bieden, maar tot onze grote spijt bleef de progressie in de kaartverkoop uit.
Het besluit tot annuleren van het evenement is een erg moeilijke beslissing geweest, maar bij de huidige te verwachten bezoekersaantallen kan Area51 niet de kwaliteit en beleving bieden die het publiek mag verwachten.
Iedereen die een ticket heeft aangeschaft zal persoonlijk via e-mail op de hoogte worden gesteld.
Onze welgemeende excuses voor de teleurstelling en het ongemak.
