FREEDOM
There are little rules at Counter Culture
Festival. This manifest, therefore, is rather
a refl ection of our community than a book of
law. Behave the way you feel fi t to behave.
We are welcome towards all sorts of
ethnicities, sexualities, genders, bodies,
ages and dresscodes. There is no popculture
judgement here and kids are more
than welcome, too. We’ll even have a
special program for the little ones. By all
means, come and love eachother. Find
freedom in self-expression. Have fun!
RESPECT
With this in mind, respect the people
around you. There is no space for prejudice
on the site of Counter Culture Festival.
Give, learn and share experiences. We protect
our fl uid culture that lacks commercial
ties and ask for you to respect this choice.
LEAVE NO TRACE
Please don’t litter. In order to preserve the
ecological system of the Julianapark and
its surrounding area, we would like CCF
to leave as little damage as possible. We
share this planet alongside billions of other
creatures and don’t mean to upset them.
In order to preserve our counter culture,
we seek to live in peace with the green.
SAFETY
We ask you to refrain from bringing glass
bottles or jars, weapons of any kind, fi reworks
or heavy liquor on the festivalsite.
While safety comes with respecting others,
CCF does not stand for illegal activities in
Julianapark. We would like to ensure this
safety by banning said items. Bringing your
own plastic bottles or cans is fi ne, yet keep
in mind not to litter. All the drinks and food
for sale on the site are as affordable as we
can make them, too. We love for you to
enjoy our delicious drinks and foodies.
NO DOGS ALLOWED
No, really. We realize this is a diffi cult one,
as we love our hairy friends the way you
do. However, bringing dogs is not allowed
at Counter Culture Festival. The reason
is twofold. Firstly, our permit does not
allow pets on the site. Plain and simple.
Secondly, part of the Julianapark is a small
petting zoo. We love to keep the friends
over there safe in spirit and body by not
allowing other pets near. So please, fi nd
a friend to watch your dog(s) while you’re
out in Utrecht.
COLLECT AND GO GREEN
You may have already read this in our
Manifest: please do not litter. In case you
feel particulary positive about the environment
of the Julianapark, we will have fresh
garbagebags ready to hand out at several
points on the festivalsite. Get a bag and
collect our waste with us.
NO I D? NO ALCOHOL
We get it: you do not want the world to
invade your privacy. However, Dutch law
forces us to check for identifi cation when
we sell you an alcoholic drink or two.
No alcohol allowed under 18 and checks
are mandatory up to 25. We love you,
no matter the birthdate on a plastic card,
just bear with us and coöperate.
PICKPOCKETING
Due to previous experience with pickpockets,
the Counter Culture Festival security
team has the jurisdiction to frisk you in
case of any suspicion. By entering the
festivalsite, you agree to this sad but
much needed rule.

The Utrecht based Counter Culture Festival originates from the 2006 protests against the evacuation of the Vismarkt and De Dump. We are united in one love for DIY and alternative culture and our goal is to be an easily accessible platform for non mainstream arts. Access to CCF is and will always be free and we rely entirely on our beautiful volunteers.
