Scott Ferguson is the owner and operator of the soulful electronica label Ferrispark Records and one half of its Techno geared sub-label, Gravid Digital. Scott’s musical career started in the mid-90’s in Detroit where he began Deejaying and consuming a wide range of music, Detroit House and Techno, Disco, and Rare Grooves in particular. Since his start Scott Ferguson has appeared in many of the top industry recognized magazines, Deejayed and produced around the Globe for labels such as Ferrispark Records, International Deejay Gigolos, Third Ear, Deep Vibes, Deep Explorer, Gravid Digital, Bloop Records, Psychostatia Recordings and remixed electronic artists such as Alton Miller, Reggie Dokes, Juju & Jordash, and Native Funk. His productions have been played and charted by legendary Deejays including Derrick May, DJ Hell, Fabrice Lig, Ricardo Villalobos, Doc Martin, Recloose, Trickski, and Loco Dice.

Juju & Jordash - Live debut NL (Real Soon, Aesthetic Audio, Amsterdam)
Nearly a decade ago, in the seaport city of Haifa, Israel, Juju & Jordash met. They had very different lives going on at the time, but found one another through their weekly be-bop jams. Throughout the 1990s, Juju & Jordash each played in and composed for various jazz, ethnic and experimental combos by day. Meanwhile by cover of night, they were both experimenting with electronic dance music—something they would soon come to do together.
In 2003, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Juju & Jordash officially joined forces. Together, two years later, they released The Hush EP on Reggie Dokes’ (Detroit) legendary underground ‘Psychostasia’ label. In 2006, came their track The Ballad of Johnny Velocity with Walter M. Jones on the Cisco House Presents Compact Vinyl EP1 (Cisco, Japan). Next up was their 2007 Blue Plates EP on London based label Real Soon, which received rave reviews by, amongst others, Philip Sherburne in the highly regarded WIRE magazine; who wrote another review just as great, again in the WIRE, regarding their follow-up Release, the Time Slip EP. 2008 has so far seen Juju & Jordash’s first digital LP for the highly acclaimed eclectic label Rope A Dope, A 12" on Keith Worthy’s Detroit based up and coming label Aesthetic Audio and various remixes for Norwegian artist Sienna and for the Spanish deep house label Deep Explorer.
As solo artists, they have also released on Terrence Parker’s Real Right Recordings (Detroit), Attic
and Fact Records (Jerusalem).
It is hard to describe Juju & Jordash’s music. It is a unique fusion of electronic and acoustic, Industrial and reggae, Detroit flavored techno, Classic House and free jazz—music from the future gazing deeply into the past. Musical influences range from Ryuichi Sakomoto to Thelonius Monk, from Kraftwerk to Mr. Fingers, and from Cabaret Voltaire to Ornette Coleman.
With many expected releases in the works, Juju & Jordash continue to make more music—still the daily joy of Juju who hasn’t put down his guitar since age ten, and Jordash who’s been at the piano since his fifth birthday. They are currently based in Amsterdam, where they work in close association with Fortress Music Studios.

De afgelopen maand is er een kleine radiostilte geweest binnen het Dekmantel kamp. Sinds het gedenkwaardige debuut in de Paradiso van 5 september hebben we ons eventjes rustig gehouden om hard te werken aan het resterende programma van 2009. Het resultaat liegt er niet om. Er staan vier puike data op het programma (zie myspace.com/dekmantel) en het boekingskantoor en eigen platenlabel zullen inmiddels niet lang meer op zich laten wachten.
Nu eerst aandacht voor de derde Dekmantel Special in de Studio 80. Dekmantel zou Dekmantel niet zijn als we U niets nieuws zouden presenteren en met de gasten van de aankomende editie zien we maar liefst twee debuutshows tegemoet.
De uit Detroit afkomstige Scott Ferguson tourt in oktober door Europa en heeft de Studio 80 verkozen als aankomsthaven voor zijn Nederlandse (debuut)optreden. Met een stroom van releases op ondermeer Deep Vibes, Gigolo, Third Ear en het eigen label Ferrispark voedt hij de scene al een klein decennium lang met sterke tracks die op het grensvlak van de house en de techno uit Detroit balanceren.
Daarnaast verwelkomen we de Israëlische import Amsterdammers Juju & Jordash. Hun sterk door fusion-jazz en psychedelische rock beïnvloede electronica wordt ook over de grenzen buitengewoon goed opgepakt, dit resulteerde twee weken terug in een prime-time boeking in de hoofdzaal van de Londense club Fabric (!). Aanstaande zaterdag zullen ze dit trucje, gewapend met electronische gitaren en een diversiteit aan hardware, voor het eerst op Nederlands terrein herhalen.
Uiteraard worden beide gastacts aangevuld met materiaal uit de Dekmantel-stal. Casper Tielrooij en Thomas Martojo openen en sluiten achtereenvolgens de grote zaal. In de achterzaal sluiten Reynier Hooft, Makam en Michael Jacques een 5 uur durend monster-dj-verbond.
